Govt HAS No Plans To Privatise Zamtel -Kaunda

Deputy Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication Panji Kaunda says Government has no plans to privatise Zamtel.
Responding to Rufunsa Member of Parliament (MP) Kenneth Chipungu (MMD), who wanted to know whether Government had any plans to privatise Zamtel, Colonel Kaunda said there is no need to privatise a company which is improving its services.
Col. Kaunda said Zamtel management is working hard to improve the financial status of the company and that some of its profits are being re-invested in the company.
He said the misunderstanding between Zesco and Zamtel over the optic fibre network is being resolved.
