Nursing School Director Arrested for Fraud

POLICE in Chingola have arrested African Health Care Institute (AHCI) director Christine Kapampa for allegedly obtaining money by false pretences.
Copperbelt deputy commissioner of police Mukuka Chewe confirmed the arrest yesterday.
“I can confirm that Ms Kapampa was arrested in Chingola and she will appear in court soon,” Mr Chewe said.
Ms Kapampa is expected to appear in court soon.
Over 500 students are demanding to have their money refunded by AHCI after they were informed that the nursing school was operating illegally.
Recently, the General Nursing Council ordered police to shut down AHCI for operating illegally.
But Ms Kapampa argued that the Health Professions Council of Zambia had allowed AHCI to operate.
“We wish to correct the error that was earlier reported by the media that the institution is illegal,” she said.
Ms Kapampa said AHCI is registered and has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health and international co-operating partners.
