RB Is Better Than Nevers -Kalima

MMD Kasenengwa member of Parliament (MP) Victoria Kalima has joined calls for former President Rupiah Banda to come back to active politics, adding that he is a better leader than party president Nevers Mumba.
Ms Kalima said she has nothing against Dr Mumba but that if members want Mr Banda to be their leader, they should be given what they want.
She said in an event that Mr Banda, popularly known as RB, contests the presidency at the MMD convention, the former president would go through.
“There is a leadership crisis at the moment and people want to see a president who can take the country forward and they feel that RB can do that,’’  Ms Kalima  said.
She said Mr Banda implemented good policies as president and that he has the experience to lead the country.
Ms Kalima said many Zambians are calling on the former president to come back because they have tasted his leadership qualities.
“Other than President Sata, I think RB is a better leader. When you look around, there is no one with good leadership qualities,’’ she said.
Ms Kalima said many Zambians have confidence in RB and that they feel that he must come back into active politics.
She said Mr Banda is popular countrywide compared to other leaders who are just popular in certain parts of the country.

REMEMBER RB IS FROM THE EASTERN PROVINCE WHERE PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT TO LIVE IN THE PAST.SO IT IS NOT SURPRISING TO ME TO HEAR THAT RB WANTS TO COME BACK TO POLITICS AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE SUPPORTING THE COMING BACK OF RB ARE FROM THE EASTERN PROVINCE. IT IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT FOR THE PEOPLE FROM THE EASTERN TO ACCEPT CHANGE AND IT TOOK THEM MORE THAN 15 YEARS TO BELIEVE THAT UNIP WILL NEVER COME BACK TO POWER. SO IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER 15 YEARS TO BELIEVE THAT MMD/ RB ARE GONE FOREVER.

No president shall be more than 65 yrs old as a Republican President. Let’s look at health of our leaders as a factor and fresh ideas not recycling old leaders.

Victoria is right, politics is not all about hate or what but popularity. Those dwelling on his age are just scared of RB.The ballot is the best to decide and not age mongers.

He did amass his wealth when he was only three months in state house. He abolished abuse of office clause. He bought mpundu plot at a cost of $700,000 within a short period of assuming office and build twelve expensive luxurious villas a long Leopard road.
Some body wants to bring this man back so that he loots even more? God forbid!

Isaac, it seems we have such acutely short memories. How can pipo forget all that withing 36 months sure. If it was in other countries, this MP would be under pressure for advocating for a person with such a lot to answer for. Of course our law says hes innocent till proven otherwise but he needs to clear himself first

What? Oscar got only 5 years?! I suspect the judge could have let him escape prison and give him house arrest instead; the only reason she failed to do so is that the Defendant’s lawyer was very tough….but she somehow managed to reduce the years to 5 years….What money can do!!

If it was in other countries, this MP would be under pressure to resign for advocating for a person with such a lot to answer for. Of course our law says hes innocent till proven otherwise but he needs to clear himself first. On the other hand though, MMD are free to bring him back for another trouncing…

Our desire to whisk away all our problems “with a blink of an eye” has provided a fertile field for the African spiritual industry.
And none other than an army of con men who go by the title: reverend, pastor, apostle, bishop, evangelist, prophet or like T B Joshua. They have cleverly taken advantage of this human condition and milking it “till thy kingdom come”.
Now, if they are genuinely spiritually powerful as they claim they should let amputees grow limbs and cause the born blind to see. Other than that they should stop their patronising nonsense of having supernatural powers.

It is unbridled ignorance, which is feeding a monster like TB Joshua. For those peasants who fall over to his churches it is a lost cause, but the educated ones who prostrate before this trickster is what breaks my heart.
