Water Crisis: Mulungushi University Students Defaecate In Shower Rooms

Mulungushi University students have resorted to defaecate in shower rooms following the water crisis that has hit the institution for 3 weeks now. The students on Sunday reacted to the water crisis by blocking the great north road causing heavy traffic jam before police came to the scene. 6 were arrested and a few others were injured during the riot.
According to the source, the water shortages at the institution has been recurring since last year but management has not taken serious measures to address the issue. And sources within the students union said the school will have to close within a week if management does not address the problem.
According to our investigator who went to the institution ablution block, Maggots were found in most ablution blocks at the institution, indicating that there has been no water for a long time.

Students are still on class boycott.

Mulungushi University is one of the most expensive universities in Zambia. Parents pay over K12,000 every six months. This should not be allowed to happen. This is injustice and day light theft. What is all that money for if not to cater for the well being of students?

Very embarrassing indeed. Intellectuals are using the SHOWERS when there is no water, and marketeers at SOWETO are also using USED BEER PACKS when there in no water.

Do we have a Minister of Health in Zambia? Do we have the inspector of Health in Zambia. Or are the ministers preoccupied with gathering or buying DOCTORS TITLES? This selfish government must feel shameful and leave as soon as possible. Why does one have to use the chinese to creat so many buildings and call thenm university without any quality?
It is like the National Registration card office in Lusaka. I was shocked to see gentlemen in suits entering the toilets where faeces were lying everywhere. Even wall were painted with faeces. Not even a toilet paper was to be seen.Like the late Mainza Chona and incubent UNIP activist used to shout “SHAME ON YOU”. This slogan fits the PF.

The blame should directly go the Mulungushi University management. What would govt do if the management for that university conceal the information concerning about water blues? If the management exhausted all the channels to the govt, this wouldn’t be like that. Mind you the govt of the republic of Zambia has entrusted powers to the management of that particular university unless otherwise.

“students have resorted to defaecate in shower rooms”
are these the future leaders? if so then does our country have a promising future? Are these the people demanding bursaries from the tax that I am paying?

It is foolish of students to use the bath rooms to answer the call of nature, when the University is surrounded by the bush….Kambwili is right when he calls you irresponsible. However, management should move fast in addressing water problem at the institution.
