President SATA Is The Most Loved Politician In Zambia -Scott

guy scootVice-president Dr Guy Scott says President Michael Sata is the most loved politician in Zambia who has been fondly missed during the golden jubilee celebrations.

Vice-President Scott said he wished President Sata, who is in London for medical attention, was in the country to witness events as Zambia marked its 50 years of independence.

The Vice-President said in an interview yesterday that like many other Zambians, he missed President Sata.

“Of course I miss President Sata a lot. He is the most loved politician in Zambia, we can’t deny that fact and everybody knows about it,” he said.

Vice-President Scott said he looked forward to President Sata’s return from London.

“We will be glad to have him back in perfect health and I look forward to next year when he will attend the celebrations. We are all in prayer for his good health,” he said, adding that his greatest prayer is for President Sata’s wellbeing.

And Vice-President Scott thanked Zambians for showing patriotism and turning up in large numbers to celebrate the historic event in peace and dignity.

During a golden jubilee breakfast with freedom fighters yesterday, Vice-President Scott said he wished President Sata was in the country to grace the golden jubilee and personally honour the freedom fighters.

Meanwhile, Vice-President Scott said there was need to carry out a risk assessment of the water transport on Lake Kariba.

Speaking yesterday when he visited the accident scene where 26 people died after their boat capsized on Friday, Vice-President Scott said the lake was too vast and needed to have a proper risk assessment.

“We are here to share your suffering. We cannot cure your suffering but maybe we can help to make it better. The Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit is already here. We will make available coffins once we know the exact number of people who died,” he told the relatives of the deceased.

Inspector General of Police Stella Libongani who was also in the area, said the banana boat was overloaded as it was carrying 34 people instead of the required number of 14.

She said so far, no body had been retrieved apart from that of a baby which was found floating on Friday.

Libongani said the search for the remaining bodies would continue and expressed hope that they would all be retrieved.

Principal educational standards officer for Southern Province Peggy Chilema said of those that died, 23 were pupils of Henga Primary School while two were parents, and a baby.

Chilema said the pupils were aged between six and 15 years.

Henga Primary head teacher Bright Milambo, who was away in Lusaka at the time of the accident, said the community teacher who was in charge of the pupils had entrusted some pupils to paddle the boat because he was alone.

I think Guy Scott does not mean well for Sata. This man indeed mocks Sata. Just leave the president out of this as we wait for his recovery. Ba Shikote ninshi kanshi?
