Selfish individuals in PF are hiring youths and unleashing them on leaders perceived to be their enemies, says the Forum for Democracy and Development.
A group of PF cadres on Thursday took to the streets to protest Dr Guy Scott’s ascension to the position of acting President.
FDD spokesperson Antonio Mwanza described the behaviour as shameful and an insult to the memory of late president Michael Sata.
“It is unZambian and inhuman that some people can resort to protests in their opportunistic bid to succeed president Sata even before the man is put to rest. It is clear that these individuals never loved Sata. All they cared for is the power he gave them. In fact, these individuals contributed to president Sata’s death because while some of us were pleading with government to encourage him to take rest in view of his apparent failing health, they were busy pushing him to work so that they could hold on to their positions,” he said.
He said it was painful that violence had become an ‘economic’ tool in the country.
“Violence is now for hire. Those with money and selfish ambitions can hire youths and unleash them on their perceived enemies. And those youths are ready to do anything because that is how they survive,” Mwanza said.
He reminded police that they had a noble duty to clamp down on lawlessness for the good of the general public.
On Thursday, cadres led by Lusaka district chairman Yelisa Khondowe protested around the central business district over Dr Scott’s ascension to the position of acting President.
The cadres, clad in party regalia, demanded that Dr Scott hands power to party secretary general Edgar Lungu.
The cadres also called on Attorney General Musa Mwenye to step down, saying he had misinformed Cabinet on the transition of power.
The cadres sang songs denouncing Dr Scott and Mwenye, saying Lungu was the person eligible to act as acting President in view of late president Sata’s decision to appoint him to act in his position when he left for treatment in London.
“As youths in Lusaka, we urge Cabinet to inform the nation on the status of the matter, otherwise Zambians should consider what has happened as a coup d’etat, which should force the Attorney General to step down and Guy Scott should surrender the instruments of power to the rightful holder, honourable Edgar Lungu, until a substantive President is elected,” said Khondowe.

Khondowe and the one who hired him are FOOLS who need to be caged. Their aim is to cause confusion in the party so that they can impose their leader. We know who is behind these thugs. Shame on you!

Zambia and its citizens are matured in fact let Mr. scott continue. The economy is on the right path. If it means revising the constitution for the sake of the economy do so.

scott must continue until 2016 as prescribed by draft constitution which was supported by all stake orders. if at all their advocacy was genuine, they must not have a problem 4 scott to continue until 2016,that said, ament the clause to facilitate the transition.
