Why Edgar Lungu

By Kin’sley Chinyama

His Excellency Micheal Chilufya Sata was an old man and he had alot of wisdom. There is an old adage that says that an old man on a stool can see further above an ant hill than a young man standing on both legs.
In this case President Micheal Chilufya Sata is the old man sitting on the stool and Fred Mmembe the young man standing on both legs.
For President Micheal Chilufya Sata to forego Wynter Kabimba from having a chance of being his successor in favour for Edgar Lungu there is something he saw in Wynter Kabimba that was not right and something he saw in Edgar Lungu that was lets say A lesser evil to the other one.
But for the young man standing on both legs he ulogises the reject of the old man as a demi-god because of the political, economical favour he can get from him, the lure of the lust of power is clearly drooling through the mouth of Fred Mmembe but Zambians should ask themselves why?
Here we see a small group of people that have literally lived of the Zambian people’s task money and have built themselves castles in the air and have convinced themselves are king makers.
For people that stick their hands in the cookie jar and want to pretend to he clean Fred Mmembe has a leash on them like Guy Scott who traded in his loyalty and friendship in order to save face with his white friends at home and abroad and for the lure of money and power accepted to recieve his former friend and ally in a casket.
Edgar Lungu on the other hand stood by what he believed and President Micheal Chilufya Sata saw this coupled in with humility and loyalty, imagine Wynter Kabimba being confered Defence minister, justice minister, PF Secretary General and acting President at the same time? What rype of carnage would his mortorcade cause?
We still remember how cairo road came ro a standstill the first and last time he was acting President?!
Edgar Lungu on the other hand has been even sober enough to hand over the instruments of power to people who were not eligible for the sake of peace and harmony in the nation why because of the very thing President Micheal Chilufya Sata saw in him as the old man sitted on the stool he saw that Edgar Lungu can foster development peace and unity in the country.
Edgar Lungu is the man chosen by His Excellency you can see this by the amount of trust and responsibility invested in him by the late president of being Secretary General of the Party, Minister of Defence and minister of Justice even to the point of acting President that in itself was a statement of a vote of confidence. A statement Micheal made when he felt his time with his creator was nearing made a road map for Zambia and its future. That road map sees Edgar Lungu at the helm of things and Mulenga Sata and the rest of the family tree of the Patriotic Front must fall under him.
This is the first step in honouring our late father and Leader His Excellency may his Legacy Live forever in us by Selecting, Endorsing, Annointing, and rallying behind Edgar Lungu.
As for Fred Mmembe, Wynter Kabimba and the rest it is time for you to bow down to the Will and wishes of His Excellency Micheal Chilufya Sata May His Legacy Last Forever and that of the Zambian people.
This is a call to all Patriotic Zambians across Partisan lines, across Race creed and colour to Rally behind team Micheal Chilufya Sata May His Legacy live forever against the evil cartel that has usurped power from the humble and the meek.
Power is not for the few minority but for the masses.

To all Zambians including Edgar Lungu himself. Pliz this is not the time to be campaigning in the media secretly. Those pipo sapoting Edgar Lungu before the President is put to rest may be danting his (Edgar)’s image to the public as they are potraying him to be power hungry.
Morever I appeal to Edgar Lungu, his saporters and the entire 14 million Zambians to consider allowing Dr. Guy Scott to finish the remaining one year. by so doing we would be showing respect the Late President who with Scott worked to get the PF where it is as at now. Guy Scott from 2014 to 2016 and Edgar Lungu from 2016 upto 2021. May God help us as we change the constitution to allow Dr. Guyscoat to continue from now upto 2016.

By refusing to resign and admitted he had a terminal sickness, coupled with lack of succession planing the man failed miserably including all those who served in his tribal and racist government.

Iwe ka De klerk, in a democracy there is no such thing as succession plan, its pipo who choose their leader whether the incumbent dies or resigns. Problem in zambia is we’ve no leaders in our reserves. The noisy ones are just assumptions of leaders coz they have no past track record of public service life to show for based on which we can measure and verify their presumed competences!!!

I agree. If there’s anyone to blame for the impending drama/chaos /confusion in PF and probably the greater Zambia, it’s Sata himself. He should have put his house in order long time ago. We now have to put up with the expected circus whose curtain is about to be raised. Never-the-less, MHSRIP

The author of this article is completely lost. Sata’s wisdom did not include him choosing for us who was to be President. Your argument that since Sata chose Lungu then we should all vote for Lungu defeats democracy, of course that’s assuming you know what democracy means. Sata appointed Lungu to act in his absence so that he could go to the hospital, he did not appoint Lungu to act in his death. These two are clearly distinct. Therefore with closed eyes in line with the constitution , a right descision was made for Guy Scott to be in charge for 90days. I have tried to make it simple to understand how the constitution works. I am not an interested party but just helping free of charge to clear the wrong argument to say since somebody was given instruments of power he should continue acting. Instruments of power were to cover for absence due to illness, when death struck constitution kicked in. Clear?

Sometimes TUMFWEKO can sink so low and throw journalism ethics thro the window. To summarise, this site is campaigning for Edgar Lungu the editor should let Zambians find their leader. So far Scott will maintain peace.

The question is do TUMPWEKO even have journalism ethics save for the fact that they may not even be qualified journalists.

We choose the candidate not Mr Sata.He is no more .We loved him but he cannot make decisions for us even in his death. Whilst other countries are looking for visionaries to change their fortunes we are campaigning for a nobody during mourning rubbish!

No Sata Mulenga and definitely no Panji this is not Arab land with autocratic rule. Countries where family autocratic system is used things go into chaos.

Kinsley nowanda we impiched u from cobusu president! This is the difination of folishness, u havnt heard his developmental roadmap, manifesto, ideologies or anything and u uve already put in in power (well clearly ule lyamo) so what if sata chose him? Is it sata’s responsibility to choose a leader for me? (Or maybe that’s what you understand by democracy?) By the set statutes the pf will choose their president and by the set statutes zambians will vote for there prefrered leader too. Simple. Echo kwabela constitution. May sata’s soul rest in peace.

the problem many zambians have is the failure to identify a good leader among the people that we already have in opposition we have good leaders and the lungus mulengas kamwilis etc mention but a few the guys have no proven experience so in us who can identify a good leader we already have one in place full stop we know pf is gone with the owner and on 11/11/2014 it will be burried.

A long long time ago lived a Satairical Sheep. It’s best friend was an old desperate but tamed lion. It wore sheeps clothing. It was a lion is sheep’s clothing!

The lion was kind to the other sheep and only preyed on goat and impala from a neighbouring jungle.

The Satairical Sheep however never trusted the lion with life of the sheep.

Whenever the Satairical Sheep left the sheep kingdom, he would ask a fellow sheep to Act and command the security forces to keep the lion at bay. The Sheep consititution provided that in case the ruling Sheep died, his best friend would takeover the throne.

One day, the Satairiical sheep fell ill and appointed, as he always did, a fellow sheep to hold power whilst he he was out for a medical check up. But he died, he came back as cargo.

And lion aided by jackals wrestled Presidency from the acting Sheep. The sheep were scared but the lion said that although he was a lion, he had sheep’s clothing like any other sheep. That he had lived with the sheep for a long time and was a trusted friend of Satarical Sheep. But something terrible began happening. The old desperate lion changed his menu to roast lamb, lamb curry etc.

Edgar is trying to say he handed over power because he was magnanimous? What does the constitution say? Is he a lawyer or a liar? Anyway most of the time it’s difficult to disinguish between the two.

Guy Scott is the man until 2016, but I hope he will not do what Sata did to us after voting him into power….Birds of a feather flock together….
