Former First Lady Thandiwe Banda DIAGNOSED With BREAST Cancer
Former first lady Thandiwe Banda has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing treatment in South Africa.
Former Republican President Rupiah Banda confirmed the condition of his wife Thandiwe in an interview at the Government House.
“Am glad to mention that she is responding well to treatment, but she has to undergo a series of chemotherapy for the next nine weeks,” Mr Banda said.
Ms Banda would have to undergo three more chemotherapy sessions in the next nine weeks.
“She will be in SA for the next nine weeks for the treatment and I will be joining her soon,” he said.
Though he was sad that his wife was going through such a condition, he was optimistic that she would recover as the disease was detected at an early stage.
“It’s very unfortunate for her as a young person like yourself, (referring to female journalist present) to be going through this. As you know, I also lost my first wife as a result of this illness, but am glad that it was detected fast on Thandiwe and she will recover,” he said.

This is how it’s suppose to be government officials including presidents and their spouses need to be transparent and truthful about their terminal illnesses so that the nation pray for them and knowing what they’re praying for. We r tired of secrets next it’s coffins. Thanks Mr. Banda sir! She will recover

I find it strange that his first wife died of cancer and his present wife has also been diagonised with cancer. I know a man who suffered a similar tragedy….
Life can raise many questions….full of mystery indeed.

If you had improved the state of our hospitals (Like UTH) and improved the conditions of service for our doctors when you were president your wife would have been surrounded by friends and relatives whilst being treated in her country Zambia. Now you rush to SA to have your wife treated there (Am sure by Zambia doctors and nurses). Do these people have shame?

@IFNOT it’s just coincidence breasts cancer is very common everybody is at risk even our own girlfriends. Angelina Jolie has both breasts cut off! That’s how bad it is!
