STATEMENT BY THE INTERIM PRESIDENT OF THE PATRIOTIC FRONT HIS EXCELLENCY DR GUY SCOTT
The Patriotic Front is mourning the death of His Excellency, Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, the late President of the Republic of Zambia.
It is critical that we respect the mourning period, and that we remain united as a party, and in Government and indeed as a nation. We must work hard together in order to ensure that the family of the late President and the nation at large is able to put our beloved Leader to rest in a manner that is orderly, appropriate, and respectful of our traditions.
In this regard, the Acting President of the Republic of Zambia and interim President of the Patriotic Front Dr Guy Scott had on 31st October 2014 instructed that all campaigning and consultation around the up-coming Presidential bye-election should be halted until after the completion of the burial programme. This allows all party members to mourn together, in unity, as we would all wish.
The Leadership of the Patriotic Front accepts this instruction, and acknowledges the constitutional positions currently held by Dr Guy Scott. It is critical that this instruction must be enforced with due seriousness at all levels. Where any such activities have already been initiated, in the same vein they will now be halted.
Leaders of the Party and indeed the Government are united in an appeal for peace. All party members, cadres and others must immediately desist from any form of unrest of violence. It is completely unacceptable that our grief and mourning be marred by violence and disorder such as has been observed in some places over night and today. FURTHER, ALL party members must desist from issuing inflammatory statements to the media, including on line publications.
In the context of agreement on the forgoing, the interim President of the Patriotic Front has stated that the position of Secretary General will remain with Hon Edgar Lungu MP, Minister of Defence and Minister of Justice. After the completion of burial of the late President His Excellency Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, the Central Committee of the Patriotic Front will then be convened, following due process as laid down in the PF Constitution. At that time, any member of the Central Committee [who] intends to stand for election as Party President and Presidential Candidate for the Patriotic Front including the Secretary General or holder of any other position that may present a conflict of interest will be required to immediately step down from those positions.
Signed:
HE Dr Guy L Scott MP
Interim President, Patriotic Front
Hon Edgar Lungu MP
Secretary General, Patriotic Front

At this rate, mwana, there is no isolated spectacle. Any flaundering in one camp is a gain in the other. There shall be no small matter. Think of it, even HH dragging his Mutinta like a rag doll at the body viewing seemed comedic! So really, mended fences in PF are a minus to HH & Nevers.

No my friend Citizen. You are wrong. What has emerged from this whole episode is that
1. Guy Scott is the one holding the POWER and AUTHORITY, and that He know how to use it.
2. The GBM clique had to grovel to Scotts Farm with meekness and plead with Scott.
3. Scott, with wisdom and a sense of reconciliation agreed to re-instate Edgar for the sake of Party Unity.

If what we are getting from the other media is anything to go by… I strongly question the calibre of Guy Scott. Just how could he allow himself to be used like that… On the other hand he has ‘succeeded’ to propel Edgar right to where everyone will now look at him with envy…

For sure, we maybe just be speculating but the truth remains to the one who caused everything into motion Or who executed the power over the other, holds the truth over him.

Lungu was fired because he was a big threat to the peace of the nation, according to the constitution he was not eligible to continue acting when Scott was around after Sata’s death. He accepted to give power to Scott but was not happy from the bottom of his heart. He started campaigning when instead he agreed with PF rules that nobody campaigns until the putting of Sata to rest.
First his friends who are MPs who does not read the constitution mocked him about giving power to Scot. From that mood he was told we are behind u so he start campaigning. To me he was a big threat to peace during this mourning period. The only thing is Scott was suppose to wait till Sata is put to rest then consider to fire Lungu

GUY SCOOT IS VERY CLEAVER AND ALL HIS DECISION HAS HAS SO FAR MADE ARE VERY RIGHT. LUNGU WAS DROPPED BECAUSE HE BEGAN CAMPAIGNING AND ORGANISING PROTEST WITH THOSE KAMBOVA’S WHO DO NOT EVEN HAVE VOTERS CARDS.HE EDGAR THAT IS IS THE REASON HE NEVER STOPPED THOSE FOOLISH PROTESTERS. SO GUY WAS RIGHT REMOVED.I HOPE HE HAS LEARNT A BIGGER LESSON.

Yes I spent 42min studying images of EDGAR LUNGU on internet (Try Edgar Lungu IMAGES on Google), look closely on all images, there is something MEDICALLY wrong with Edgar Lungu. Campaign and Vote wisely, I see potential frequent state house evacuations. Never say I didnt warn you, hes not fine.

November 5, 2014 at 11:19 am
If you raise up the issues of being health then how many politicians are? i guess Edgar’s health could be something to do with drunkenness which he can easily control. Scott is equally a patient.
