Mwila Turns Down PF S.G Job

Chipili Member of Parliament Davies Mwila has turned down the appointment as Patriotic Front -PF Secretary General.

In a walk in interview with ZNBC News, Mr. Mwila says it is time to mourn President Michael Sata with dignity and honour.

The former Deputy Minister of Defence says he has lost a mentor, a father and a leader who built him in politics dating back to many years.

He says he served President Sata with loyalty adding that he cannot belittle the late head of State by not mourning him with dignity.

Mr. Mwila was accompanied by some Members of the Central Committee.

Earlier acting PF President Guy Scott had appointed Mr. Mwila as new Secretary General, relieving Edgar Lungu of his duties with immediate effect.

In a letter dated 3rd November 2014 obtained by ZNBC news in Lusaka, Dr Scott has thanked Mr. Lungu who is Defence and Justice Minister for his services rendered to the party.

But when reached for comment Mr. Lungu declined to comment over the matter.

Meanwhile, Dr Scott has appointed Chipili PF Member of Parliament of Davies Mwila as new PF Secretary General.

In a letter of appointment, Dr Scott has wished Mr. Mwila success and God’s blessings in his new position.

However, some cabinet Ministers have called on Acting President Guy Scott to rescind his decision to fire Edgar Lungu as PF Secretary General.

Tourism Minister Jean Kapata says Dr. Scott should not make a decision alone without involving the central committee of governing party.

She was speaking in a walk in interview at ZNBC.

Ms. Kapata says it is unfortunate that some individuals are making decisions at a time when the country is supposed to mourn President Sata with dignity.

And Sports and Youth Minister Chishimba Kambwili has called on youths not to demonstrate over the firing of Mr. Lungu.

Mr. Kambwili says some cabinet ministers will be meeting Dr. Scott to iron out the matter.

And Chief Government Spokesman Joseph Katema has appealed to Government officials and all party members to mourn President Sata in peace

Panga Family in leadership crisis. That Guy doesn’t belong to any of the 73 tribes and doesn’t know how to mourn. Same with that Mulenga Sata chap..

If this leads to PF self canibalism, its good for Zambia. RIP Micheal Sata.

Davies Mwila has turn down the position of secretary general because he know how much work is involved and he can’t handle the task.He is just scare not because he is mourning the president.Does it me when the president is dead all the offices and works should come to a halt? No things should keep moving therefore, Guy Scott is right. Those who are in support with Edgar Lungu, are people full of corruption and they know that Edger can’t stop them and they could do anything. So they are now scared Guy Scott has began to make changes so that he halts their evil plans.Ba Davies Mwila, I thought you are courageous and why did you have to go to the media to turn down the position when they acting president appointed you in the close door.

davies mwila should be mourning instead of going to the media, where did he find the time? useless chap! Guy scott simply wants to maintain discipline. Lungu’s remarks that ‘he handed over power to avoid bloodshed’ was made out of ignorance of what is provided for in the constitution. it was a divisive statement hence he deserved the chop! some blacks are difficult to control except by the weep. Can you control kambwili you? you can’t!

Sata is dead should everything be frozen? If Mwila can’t handled it go to hell, Govt need to continue Sata is not the first or last to die but Govt machinery need to continue running… and so is discipline.

I agree with those observations indicating panic and senseless in the act involving relieving Edgar of SG duties. We all know H.E MCS had reasons why he entrusted Edgar with so many responsibilities when there were other men to do that. This must be respected. I urge all PF members, central committee and all MPS to stop these acts Acting President is trying to manovre. Wea re told that even all those that were recently fired by MCS are now frequenting Scot ‘s office. PF should indeed be careful. The country is watching. We are the voters. Only the right shall paddle on MCS’s achievements ad this we shall support.

How do you know that Sata is the one who appointed Edgar? The president must have been too sick to make a sound decision by the time Edgar was appointed. It could have been someone who wanted to usurp power knowing that the president was not coming back to power since he was too ill.

Lungu knows the law but he is deliberately trying to mislead the public. The law is clear that the VP takes over. If you think Dr. Scott should not be president, go to court. But I know you are afraid because you know would lose.
