Late President Michael Sata’s son Mulenga has apologized for any inconvenience his declaration of his presidential ambitions may have caused.
Mr Sata who is also Lusaka Mayor has since with immediate restrained all his supporters from chanting or singing any songs aimed at positioning him for the presidency.
Mr. Sata told journalists yesterday that he regrets any inconvenience his intentions to take over from his father may have caused.
Mr. Sata states that the great mistake he might have made is when he answered a question from some journalists on the day he arrived from London with regards his ambitions for the presidency.
He says singing songs or wearing t-shirts with his name on them might mislead the nation and other interested groups thereby worsening the situation.
Mr Sata has since appealed to all members of the party to remain peaceful and calm as the nation continues to mourn President Sata.
Mr. Sata who is also PF Lusaka District Chairman has further called on all party members to reflect and chant the way forward after the burial of President Sata.
Meanwhile Mr Sata has expressed sadness that mourners at Belvedere Lodge which has been designated as the funeral place were choked with teargas following the confusion which ensued following the removal of Edgar Lungu as PF Secretary General.
Mr.Sata has told Qfm news in an interview that it is unfortunate that such an incident could happen when people are mourning the late President.
He explains that he was confused when he heard the news about some youths who had run amok burning tyres outside the funeral home at Belvedere Lodge last night following the decision by acting president Dr. Guy Scot to drop Mr Lungu.
Mr. Sata who is President Sata’s eldest son has since called on PF members and Zambians as a whole to show respect to the late president as they mourn him.
The Lusaka Mayor has since apologized to the people who were at the funeral house at the time of the fracas for being inconvenience caused by the firing of the teargas by the police in their quest to control the youths.
On Monday night Patriotic Front youths last night ran amok after news filtered through of the decision by Dr. Guy Scott to relieve Edgar Lungu as PF Secretary General

Zambia is not a monarchy where you can take over from your father. You are still paranoid in politics and stop reacting to issues on impulse but be sober minded.

Mulenga Sata is not eligible to stand as presidential candidate under the current constitution and this he must know; thanks to his father for denying us a people driven constitution that would not have discriminated him. The chickens have come home to roost so early even when Sata’s body still lies in state.

Its not bad for Mulenga Sata to aspire for presidency because he is a Zambian and our constitution does not bar him from contesting for presidency. He is the good leader going by his apology and calling on all his supporters to stop their noise campaign for him.Look at Kambwili,GBM and Edgar whose supporters went on the street to protest against Guy Scott. As Kambwili, Edgar and GBM apologized for the confusion their supporters caused at the airport or on the street. The answer is NO hence this shows they can’t make good leaders for this nation once given a chance. So bravo to Mulenga Sata for showing apologizing and those blaming him do not understand leadership.

ZAMBIANS WHEN DO YOU THINK THE YOUTH WILL TAKE UP THE MANTLE OF LEADERSHIP IN THIS COUNTRY?
EVERY YOUNG ZAMBIAN WHO WANTS TO RULE,YOU SAY HE NEEDS EXPERIENCE.
THE CONSTITUTION SAYS ANYBODY 35 YEARS AND ABOVE CAN BE PRESIDENT. HH, NEVERS, MULENGA, ELIAS,KAMBWILI, COSMO, ALL THESE ARE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO DESERVE TO RULE ZAMBIA NOW AND NOT LATER.

Mulenga Sata’s mother was born in Malawi and only came to Zambia after independence. Therefore our current constitution of which his father was one of the key people that forced a clause to bar KK from standing in 2006 to be included and who has always referred to it as working very well bars him from standing as presidential candidate. Same with Guy Scott. It’s true what goes around comes around.
