A 50-year-old man of Lusaka’s Chaisa compound who was recently assaulted by his wife is reluctant to have his wife locked up by the police.
Joseph’s wife, Juliet has since fled the matrimonial home after pouring hot porridge on his husband’s chest during a marital dispute.

It’s Ok for a woman to beat up or assault a man, but it’s not ok for a man to beat up or assault a woman. I have witnessed women slapping and pushing their spouses in public, and the man can not do anything for fear of being lynched by the public.
