A fully constituted Central Committee Meeting held at Government Complex has adopted PF Secretary General, Egar Lungu as the Party’s Presidential Candidate.
This follows a petition of support from 62 PF Members of Parliament who urged the supreme policy body to adopt Mr. Lungu as Presidential Candidate.
The meeting was chaired by PF National Chairperson Inonge Wina and was attended by over 47 members.

From my own thinking, i feel there is something fishy in the minds of the people calling for a general conference, they are not calling for a conference in good faith not at all. If truely they loved and respected the late President, then they should have without any troubles endosed E. lUNGU as he the person not only chosen by the late president but so far the only one who can win PF an election. If PF wants to be written in the books that it was the shortest saving ruling party in government, then let them go aheard and ignore the calls for E.Lungu to stand as a presidential candidate.PF try it and u will see. Lungu should not be afraid of convention. After all he has a lot of support.63 MPs can do a lot of campaigning for him. Trouble is if General Conference is avoided. Other hopefuls can apply for injucntion to restrain Lungu from filing nominations on the basis that constitution was NOT followed. This can cause big problems for PF!
