Electing Lungu As President Would Be Worst Mistake – Chawama Resident
ZAMBIANS must not make a mistake of electing Edgar Lungu as president because he is a crook, a Chawama Constituency resident Morgan Muunda has charged.
Muunda said Lungu could not be entrusted with the Presidency because he had failed to address the challenges in his constituency.
“Electing Edgar as Zambia’s president would be the worst mistake we could ever make as a nation because that man is a crook,” he charged. “The people of Chawama Constituency have been facing a lot of challenges and our MP has failed to improve our poor lives.”
Muunda said Lungu would only bring misery.
“So what makes some PF members think that Edgar can lead the entire nation? He will only bring more misery for the people if elected as president,” he added.
Muunda challenged Lungu to explain how he would address challenges that Zambia was facing when he had failed to govern a small constituency like Chawama.
“Lungu has been accessing Community Development Fund (CDF) meant for Chawama but he has never consulted us as a community on how to use it. Even the construction of police posts in the constituency, no tender was announced, the man just does things the way he [feels] like without any adequate consultation or worrying about the feelings of other people. So what kind of leader is he?” he asked.
Muunda further alleged that Lungu was not a sober-minded leader.
“If you were to visit some casinos in Chawama, you would find him (Lungu) drunk. He drinks to an extent that he can no longer control himself,” Muunda said.
And Muunda challenged Lungu to explain to the nation, what led to the revocation of his practicing licence by the Law Association of Zambia, which he (Lungu) only got back recently.
“Can he clarify this? We hear that he used to swindle money from some his clients; we do not know whether it’s true or not, so can he explain the truth. And if it’s true, then we are not ready for him,” said Muunda.
Meanwhile, UPND chairperson Mutale Nalumango has urged Zambians to critically scrutinise backgrounds of people vying for the Presidency.
Nalumango told the media yesterday that people like Lungu were failures, who did not have a clean background.
“Some look popular [that] they have been adopted by so many MPs but Zambians, I urge you, scrutinise them. Look at their track records, and I can tell you that one’s track record is not clean. That man is a failure. All through his journey, he is a failure. Find out why he failed. You do not take a failure and make him to be the head of state or even to be the head of resources,” said Nalumango.
UPND yesterday also announced that they had picked Hakainde Hichilema to be their sole candidate for the coming presidential election

Good observation on Edgar Lungu but even without all the explanation, one just needs to look at the man to tell. Are we short of leaders to elect as President? Other Presidents have died out of terminal illnesses, Lungu will just collapse because he is only remaining with papers in his chest not lungs.

I think you are the one who is sick because it is not easy if not impossible to advise the President who he should appoint if you are not in the inner circle. It would have been ok if Guy Scott was not a member of the CARTEL. Guy Scott is ok but what worries many is his connection to the cartel. because of that Edgar is far better in continuing the vision of Sata. Everyone has weaknesses. Even the Chawama resident has weaknesses

I have been going through the files of Mr. Edgar Lungu. This from the time he was a bank employee to the time his law firm hot involved in forgery and money swndling scandals. I still fail to understanding how such a character had to win such trusten from the late president to even act as a President. Such a person with bad straling and drinking records cannot become a President in a such vulnerable democracy as Zambia. Because even his enemies are just waiting to review many scandals over HIM. And that Will mark the end of PF and this will give a chance to another dictator to energie. Those so called central committee membership who are Saïd to have endorsed HIM are just opportunists who are afraad to lose their jobs once another person become elected. Also we do not need the relatiives to the late President like Miles Sampa or people like Mulenga Sata to take over power. Zambia do not belong to a family. There are more capable and intelligent Zambians who can preserveren the country’s democracy.

For sure you do not impose a leader on the people. Democracy simply means POWER OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE. Let the people get to know who wants to Lead them. His back ground, his achievements and his vision in regard to the development of the country and that of empowering the impoverished Zambians. Allow the Zambian Citizens to chose a leader of their choice through democratic means as spelt out in their party constitutions and the National Constitution. If u have to blame Edger for his past mistakes then non of them is eligible to go to plot one truth has it that Hakainde stole some money from the privatisation of our parastatals and the lima bank house that he dubiously aquired which the late head of state kept reminding him about,Nevers in the foriegn mission also was accused of stealing the money n was later prosecuted.Now who is going to throw the first stone among the contestants?We shouldnt be assassinating any of them let them meet in the political arena and see who the people’s choice will be besides God has already put His choice in plot one the spiritual realm pending to manifest in the physical realm.It will shock many of u as God in most cases favours the outcasts.Just saying it all the best to all candidates!
