PF Central Committee Holds Crucial Meeting Amid Tight Security

Police in full riot gear have been deployed around State House where a crucial Patriotic Front (PF) Central Committee meeting is being held to try and resolve the succession wrangles that have rocked the ruling party ahead of the presidential by-election.
A Check by a QFM News Crew found Police officers deployed on both Independence Avenue and Los Angeles Boulevard screening every car entering State House to ensure no cadres enter the premises.
A few buses loaded with cadres were however spotted at Longacres but could not proceed to State House upon being informed of the Police presence.
PF Secretary General Edgar Lungu on Friday last week warned cadres not to go to State House to but rather wait for official communication after the Central Committee meeting.
Some of the notable figures spotted entering State House include PF Central Committee Member Willy Nsanda, former Home Affairs Deputy Minister Alfredah Kansembe, Davies Mwila, Education Minister John Phiri, Muchinga Province Minister Gerry Chanda and Mwenya Musenge among others.
The ruling party is embroiled in wrangles over the mode of selecting a presidential candidate ahead of the January 2015 presidential election.

Everyone is free to contest but the timing is totally wrong. For now, PF should have just looked for someone to finish the term and then go for convention in 2016 for general election. Sampa and GBM are not good candidates for me. PF is not a BEMBA party. Let others take over. I hope Guy is attending the meeting this time.

Guy Scot tell them what is in the PF constitution. Otherwise we are changing Gvt as it seems a lot of looting will be swept under the carpet.

They have a clear guideline of their own party’s constitution as to what happens in such cases. You were not there when they did it so leave them to learn to use what they resolved not to start contravening their own written documents due to cost or circumstances, NO!

I am one who thinks seriously and constructively. Additionally am a silent but strong supporter of PF and it is in this vein I want to say the following. Guy Scot could be right if according to what he says, is following the constitution genuinely. He could also be gravely wrong if he is being used by the notorious Cartel.
Let me throw a warning to these tea drinking PF members having meetings by the day, that should they fail to settle for one credible presidential candidate…. then it is curtains come January 2015. If that happens I suggest they honourably and disgracefully bring in a neutral person like Felix Mutati to fill the void. Capwa!!!!!!

SATA BEING THE DISCIPLINARIAN HE WAS, I DO NOT SEE HOW HE COULD HAVE TOLERATED A DRUNKARD.
EDGAR LUNGU MAY DRINK BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE HIM A DRUNKARD.
THERE IS SO MUCH OF BLACKMAIL DURING CAMPAIGNS ESPECIALLY ON STRONG CANDIDATES.
DO NOT BE BRAINWASHED LADIES AND GENTLEMEN BY SMEAR CAMPAIGNS ESPECIALLY THROUGH MEDIA CONTROLLED BY INTERESTED PARTIES.
CHOOSE YOUR CANDIDATE WISELY WITH THE FUTURE OF OUR ZAMBIA IN MIND.

Let us considerate wen I look around I can see pontential presidents even in the opposition parties, but they are all not yet made or not ready may be 2016 but for the by-election let us just vote for the part and not for an individual we will be dissappointed, for continuity PF will do then 2016 we can change if we wish.
