BREAKING NEWS: DR Christine kaseba Joins Presidential Race

christine

Former first lady Christine Kaseba has filed in her nomination papers to contest the PF Presidency, becoming the only female applicant, in a race that has drawn the interest of eight male contenders.

Dr Kaseba says she has been compelled to join the race to save the PF from destruction or abandonment of the vision and ideals of the late President Michael Sata.

she is saddened and pained that the PF has been characterised by violence, divisions and acrimony in its efforts to find a new leader.

Dr Kaseba says the divisions pose a serious threat to the party and the realisation of the dreams of the late president Sata as contained in the party manifesto.

She is calling for unity of purpose to consolidate the gains the PF made under the leadership of her late husband.

Dr Kaseba says her grief of mourning the loss of her husband cannot be compared to the pain that would result if the party is allowed to die because of divisions.

For her, she says the true mourning of the late president would be to complete the work that he began.

She is also encouraged by the so many people within and outside the PF who have encouraged her to take the leadership of the party.

Dr Kaseba says she has consulted with her family and has listened to the calls urging her to contest the Presidency of the PF.

It is okay madam. It shows you are a courageous woman who can take this nation forward. It does not mean you have stopped mourning but that you have continued by carrying on the torch you and your late husband carried all these years. All the best to you.

Leave the woman alone, time has come to go forward .Because you are a widow you can not find the job.
I have grown up in cb were ZCCM where taking a widow or an orphan to replace the late father at the working place.

Its too early to do such things. We know you are educated and culture and tradition might not mean anything to you but culture and tradition does not allow this. Atleast after one year.

    please leave her alone.mu zambia mufwayafye mukanfwila alecula.sata is gone and never coming back.christine wants to bring sanity to pf.i know she wont make it coz ba edgar is winning but i have liked the fact that she has decided to mourning the husband by venturing in what the husband loved most-politics.look at this comrades;
if it was christine who died a month before elections, ba sata would have still continued to campaign and go for elections.he wouldnt have stepped down in the name of mourning.we love our late president.lets keep christine active and focused.
    but blacks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Madam Go! Most Zambians will support you. This is a just cause. Harmonise the party’s in-fighting. You are a neutral person indeed. It’s time we had a woman president – 50 years is a long time.

Is it necessary to insult Dr kaseba? That her choice, to be a widow/mourning is not an infectious sickness to stay away from public life and I feel she will continue morning her husband for ever.how long is compassionate for working class widow(after death of their spouse). Jst 2 weeks and resume work.Leave Dr kaseba alone life shd continue and if PF gives her chance let her go for it and see mwabalelanda pa ciwa ngacikabemina.Woman power this time ama guys (politicians) bonse niba pompwe

I agree with you muma kamunkwala,if its the president lost his wife it ok for them with no time limit for mourning bt for the widow ifyakulandalanda.its time we start treating our beautiful wives with the fairness they deserve.Mayo ba Kaseba go ahead and shame these men folk thieving politicians by bringing proffessionalism in politics. As a medical personnel you have my vote

Most of the Zambians are not against Christine Kaseba contesting the presidency, we are concerned about the fact that firstly, this is starting to look like a family tussle due to Mulenga Sata & Christine Kaseba-Sata both contesting.Secondly, there is just 1 year from this election to the next presidential elections, which should have been the right time for the Sata’s to emerge from grieving and take the mantle of the late president.
It doesn’t matter that life has to go on, common decency demands a widow takes atleast 3 months from public life to mourn her beloved spouse.
This kind of panic by the Sata widow and son is very suspicious and makes one wonder what they are scared of.
I have been a staunch PF, but currently, I am starting to lose faith rapidly in this party.

      November 20, 2014 at 10:58 am

You are 1000% correct, culture is culture. Let Christine mourn her husband. If she wants to mourn him in public, let her go back to her medical practice (UTH – Gyne and Obstetrics) and help the needy and poor because that is what her late husband was always preaching.

This is now madness. Umubili waba Sata taulatalala nokutalala ayamba ifyakuchitachita. Let this woman mourn the husband. I feel sorry for her. For sure politics are a dirty game. May God deliver this woman.

One thing muleng sata and dr kaseba should know is that PF may be founded by our late republican president with the help of his friends and not a family business.one thing they should also know is that “THIS GREAT REPUBLIC WILL NEVER BELONG TO AN INDIVIDUAL AND THE THING OF SAYING PUTTING THEM POWER WILL SEE THESE ISSUES ENDING. I know power is sweet but they should remember that votes decides who should lead them.
DR kaseba just campaign and stop mentioning your late husband as a point of reference because he never used you as my wife is a Dr. so stop thing since you were the wife that will think you knew what he hard in stock for Zambian because you can’t do it like him……RIP my presido

Dr. Kaseba, we are just waiting for PF to adopt you and we shall vote for you. Forget about those old traditionalist who are talking about old culture. Culture is dynamic so they should not keep us in the past. Ilyo those Pastors who are talking about Dr. Kaseba should stop and concetrate on stealing money from poor people by asking them to plant a seed.
