ZAMBIA VS CABO VERDE: PLAYER RATINGS

Kennedy Mweene [8/10] On top form, and was heavily involved in the first half when the Cape Verdeans came wave after wave, but dealt with everything they sent his way with ease.

Made it 5 clean sheets in 6 games and leaves the Qualifiers as the best goalkeeper in the series.

Donashano Malama [4.0/10] Looked shaky and off the pace against the Cape Verdeans movement and sharp passing, we should not risk playing him at the back at again.

Christopher Munthali [4.5 /10] Was occasionally exposed each time the Cape Verdeans came forward. It wasn’t a very convincing performance from one of the best Center Backs in the Zambia Super League.

Henry Nyambe Mulenga [6.5/10] Was up against some good competitors in Odair Fortes and Heldon but Kept his composure and battled hard.

Emmanuel Mbola [5.5/10] Got forward when he could but had to be wary of Heldon’s pace on the break. He didn’t really play at his usual best but put in a good shift on the wing.

Bruce Musakanya [4/10] Pedestrian performance from the midfielder who struggled to really get things going, he’ll be hoping to recover from the slump before the AFCON, that’s if he makes the squad.

Nathan Sinkala [6/10] He didn’t particularly stand out but played his heart out in the Defensive midfield role, and could have gotten on the score sheet when his 35 yard strike struck the frame of the goal.

Given Singuluma [5/10] Started very well but hamstring forced him off in the 34th minute and he was replaced by Chisamba Lungu.

Rainford Kalaba [7.5/10] His performance was effortless and full and quality, but was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after sending his free kick wide and might need to work on his set piece ability.

Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba [8.5/10] Did not quite make the most of the space he found in the first half, but made up for it in the second and slammed in his wonder strike that won us the game.
You know you are heading places when even the former first lady [Maureen Mwanawasa] tweets “As Zambia bena chisamba lungu nabena satesate you are our future”

Emmanuel Mayuka [8/10] Intelligent and selfless square ball to set up Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba for the winning goal. He put in an inspired performance but was unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet.

Chisamba Lungu [8/10] One of the best players on the pitch today. Ran the midfield with his combination of energy, commitment and intelligent use of the ball. He was the game changer we needed to go forward and he did exactly that when he came on for Given Singuluma.

Lubambo musonda [8.5/10] His pace and trickery caused the Islanders all sorts of problems. Linked up well with the top men and produced some nice touches in tight spaces. He came into this game playing for the shirt like he has always done and gets a cool 8.5/10 for putting in a good shift while earning his 3rd CAP in the process.

Honour Janza [6.5/10] Made no changes and stuck to the same side that started in Maputo against the Islanders who made some wholesale changes to the side we faced in Praia and was lucky the boys dug deep and left the field with 3 points thanks to a moment of brilliance from Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba.

He will really need to work on the defensive aspect of the team and maybe the defensive midfield position as those are the key areas that could prove costly come AFCON. His constant omission of leaving out performing players in various Leagues around the World would have come back to haunt him during the qualifiers but after all is said and done we are heading to Equatorial Guinea and he might have to call on some experienced players if we are to go there aiming to come back the same way we did in 2012

This is the first time you have heard it, you say. I read this name on the red outfits of the Cape Verde officials. It could be what the country is called in their language.

Zamfoot…get realistic….The site will lose credibility if you persist with these jokes of ratings. …Munthali is rubbish…He is not even close to being one of the best center backs in the local league…Billy Mutale….George Chisanga, Dennis Banda, Saulani. ..are all much better….Munthali could have cost us a penalty …He is rubbish…He shouldn’t be anywhere near the Afcon team. Sate Sate did nothing other than finish well from an offside position he can’t get more than 6…Other than his offside goal he was rubbish…Janza can’t get more than 5….yet again his selection is questionable….look how organised Cape Verde were in the first half…..that’s how a serious team should play…..Zambia has the material in terms of players but Janza I’d not taking us anywhere

Instead of condemning others’ rating, come up with a counter rating and let the bloggers Judge for themselves who they agree with. This is not 1+1=2, it is a matter of opinion which may be subjective. It depends on what one was

Let him lead the team as Captain at AFCON hes got command and presence than these mute boys Sunzu and Nathan, Sunzu I even feel for him what he would be saying in English during win interviews. Eish! just give Mweene the band.

FAZ should not increase salary let alone give Janza full contract till he proves himself. Having played 9 games is not good statistics to base judgement on. I suggest he takes the team half way into AFCON 2015 before anyone thinks of honouring, Honour.

Yes, let mweene be the captain and work on entire defence and strikers. The midfild is fine with the inclusion of Chisamba lungu they cordinated wel with the teacher and Nathan but muthali, Bruece and malama shud not even be on bench its waste of time.

Give Kalaba the band. He deserves it, as you can see from his performance and age. Mweene is too talkative. What if you give him the band it is times 2. Sate Sate is my young boy. I always tell this new Coach that do not leave this young players like him, Evans Kangwa, Lubambo Musonda and afew others who are in fine form. God bless Zambia

The bottom line is that we qualified albeit all the hullabaloo. Now this coach must have the brass balls to convince Kalusha to let him start training early so that he can help to lads to gain self confidence.
Practice with the likes of Egypt, South Africa, Ghana and even Mexico. Otherwise we will be bruised badly come game time.

we need to beef up the defense.and work on the midfield let also improve on the striking force it’s not dangerous enough. LubamboMusonda,Kalaba, sinkala,Sunzu, chisamba, 30/30 and Mweene are the only promising player the rest need to be replaced.

WE ARE YET TO PREPARE FOR THE AFCON FINALS IFYA ZOONA, AND SHOULD JANZA CONTINUE CONTINUE TO BEHAVE AND THINK HE IS A WORLD COACH BY EXPERIMENTING ALL THE TIME, THEN WE SHALL SOON GO BACK TO THOSE OLD DAYS WHEN ZAMBIA WOULD SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS BUT LOSING. WHY SHOULD ONE BENCH CHISAMBA WHEN WE ALL KNOW THAT IS THE ENGINE OF THE ZAMBIAN GAME? THE LINE UP: MWEENE, MALAMA, NKAUSU, NYAMBE ( HIMOONDE), SUNZU, CHISAMBA, LUBAMBO,SINKALA, SATE SATE, ( GIVEN), MAYUKA, KALABA, THE REST PICK FROM THE BENCH BUT KALU WILL CONTINUE TO THINK FOR YOU, IT WILL BE LIKE THAT TIME WHEN HE WENT WITH WHAT WAS CALLED THE KALUSHA BABIES. AND FAZ LETS HAVE CONSISTENCY IN DRESSING. AMA JESSIES THE 2012 WAS THE BEST KIT. PLAYERS MUST LOOK SMART NOT FIMYEFU AS IF THEY ARE THE LOWLY PAID YET THEY ARE THE RICHEST, LET THERE BE SMARTNESS IN THE ZAMBIAN TEAM NOT IFIKO PSE
