Facebook Lands Married Lusaka Woman in Divroce
A 38 year old man of Lusaka has divorced his wife after he discovered that she had been cheating on him through facebook. Dixon Mwale sued Cleopatra Phiri, 22 in the Boma Local Court.
Mwale told the court that he had caught his wife cheating twice since they got married in 2005. “The first time she cheated we were living in Kitwe, I was very hurt that I sent my wife away but we were reconciled by the family. I forgave her but I decided to move to Lusaka so that we could start a new life,” he said.
Mwale testified that he decided to take Phiri to School so that she could advance in her education. One day when she returned from school she insisted that I open a facebook account for her but I was shocked that after a few minutes she was excited about a guy called Benson Mulenga who she had earlier told me was her schoolmate. I checked through his profile only to discover that he wasn’t a pupil and that he worked in a chemist,” said Mwale.
He testified that he sued Mulenga for adultery and was awarded K10, 000 as compensation.
Magistrate Mpundu granted divorce and gave full custody of their children to Mwale, saying Phiri was irresponsible.

Dear Bloggers, I personally know Cleopatra Phiri, she is the best friend to my young sister Jane, and we are neighbours. I also know her parents. She is not 22years old as reported but 32 and her husband is 38. So what are u toking about you fools. There is no defilement here; conduct personal investigations before you open your big mouths.

Mulandu taubola, The court should make sure every one involved in this marriage face the wrath of the by allowing a 13yr girl to get married. This is difilement. Let the man and parents from both sides be arrested. This was not marry age, to a man it was marry under while to a girl it was marry over.

This guy from the word go, he married a minor and so the law must take its course not only for General Kanene. He got married in 2005 and now she is 22yrs??? Please ZP investigate this issue.
