Inmates Threaten To Beat Masumba,Saying He Talks Too Much
Inmates at Lusaka central prison on Sunday threatened to beat up steven Masumba for mentioning them in his conversation with a post journalist.
This forced prison authorities to transfer him to Mwebeshi open prison in Mumbwa.
But Masumba’s Lawyer ,Mutakela Lisimba,said he was not aware his client had been transferred.Prison and police sources yesterday disclosed that after reading the detailed version of Masumba’s letter and a transcription of his conversation with a post journalist where he mentioned other inmates like George Mpombo and singer Clifford Dimba Kanene,some inmates got enraged and attempted to manhandle him.
“He was isolated;he was just siting alone in a corner and even some of the inmates he used to joke with were upset with him and wanted to beat him,saying he talks too much,”a police source said.
Masumba,a former sports deputy minister was convicted by the Lusaka magistrates court for obtaining employment using an accounting certificate he knew was erroneously awarded to him by the national institute For public administration(NIPA).

Dear bloggers, let us remember the plight of the TAZARA workers who have stayed 6 months without receiving their salaries. Their Children are dying out of hunger in large numbers.The govt sould look into this matter urgently.

This should not be allowed to happen! Just one month without a salary derails you completely, now you are talking about 6 months!! And in TAZARA for that matter? And then we want to talk loudest when a lebanese does not pay his employees!? TAZARA, please look in to this matter urgently. It is very depressing for the workers!
