By Wynter Kabimba
Good morning comrades,
Yesterday I delivered my letter of resignation from the Patriotic Front (PF) to His Excellency the Acting President Dr. Guy Scott.
I joined PF purely on principle and again I have resigned purely on principle.
My life has never been based on sheer opportunism but on the desire to serve the people of Zambia. Here are a few facts about my entry and stay in PF:
■In 2006 I was invited by late President Michael Chilufya Sata to join the PF. He shared with me the values, vision and aspirations of the party and after reflecting I agreed to join the party and became chairperson for Local Government.
■In January 2009 the President asked me to become Secretary General of the party. I was reluctant to accept that position. It took three months for me to finally accept the offer and that is how I became PF Secretary General in April 2009. From January till I finally accepted the appointment, the position had remained vacant.
■In 2010 at my office at Godfrey House, I requested President Sata to leave me out of his cabinet after the 2011 elections. I told him that I knew as early as that time that PF was going to win but I wished to remain outside government.
■In 2011 when PF won the elections, the President invited me to discuss appointments to his government. He again asked me to serve in his government but I turned down the offer, sticking to my earlier wish to remain outside government. Instead I recommended a number of my colleagues for appointment.
■In 2012 the President again asked me to join government. This time he lobbied the support of the people that he knew were close to me and asked them to persuade me. I felt duty bound to serve my President and my country and finally accepted to be in cabinet.
■In 2014, on 28 August, I was relieved of my positions as Minister of Justice and Secretary General of the PF.
That’s been my service, in brief, in the PF. Nothing about opportunism but everything to do with service. I’ve not lobbied for any position but at every turn I was invited to serve in a number of positions.
I had wished that I would continue serving the party as a member loyal to its values and principles. However, my loyalty has been undermined because these values and principles are, sadly, lost. Recent events have left me dismayed at the escalating criminal, violent and corrupt behaviour in the party.
If I joined PF on the basis of certain values and principles, surely I must resign when such values and principles are lost because I will be serving no purpose in the party.
That is why, dear comrades, I have resigned. I hope you will understand how difficult this decision was, because I still have good friends in the party who mean well. I can’t help but sympathise with them, given the prevailing circumstances in the party.

Has the cartel withdrawn support for you? Tell Mmembe he will never rule Zambia. Besides we will soon be investigating for the oil deals.

KABIMBA DO NOT PLAY A FAST ONE ON US. AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED, YOU WERE HOUNDED OUT OF PF WHEN SATA THREW YOU OUT AS SG. THE PEOPLE REJOICED AND MADE MOCK COFFINS OF YOU. SO YOU ARE GONE AND FORGOTTEN. YOUR SO CALLED ‘RESIGNATION’ IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE NOW. YOU WERE VOMITED OUT OF PF A LONG TIME AGO.

Haters for Kabimba as above have No facts about the so called Cartel as named by Emmanuel Mwamba, Richard Sakala, and a lot other paranoidic and lost souls at the Watchgalu. It was your fear of WK taking charge at the dearth of Sata. Now you see your Muppet Lungu is still in trouble and may not get the cake at Comference. The delegates know that criminals and opposition want him to face HH so that it is an easier match than had it been WK.

So what new violence has happened in PF that did not happen when wynter was there? Your indomittable panga wilding thugs hacked the komaki group which was peacefully against you and you did not resign. Kabepeniko ba shakumbila not ifwe. Tamukwete fye incende mu PF. May nama thugs yalecita support Lungu niyalya yene mwailecitisha train ku Sudan and namudabwa ati they can change so fast.

When Winter Kabimba was relieved of his duties on 28th August 2014 as Minister of Justice and Secretary General of PF, I and my wife had a sigh of relief because the way things were going, it looked like he wanted to be a president at any cost and that he was ready to kill especially leaders in the opposition if reports are to be believed. He sounds as though he is a humble man but deep down, he is a snake.

It’s such a shame that this expertly crafted message should lack realism. Ba Wynter, surely power must have blinded you so much that you could not see violence your cadres perpetrated under your watch. At the peak of your power, PF cadres hacked one another mercilessly, with one Simutowe losing his life. You said no word.In your heydays, Nevers and HH were on occassions hounded off their country tours in Eastern Province. Again you silence was deafening. In your time, the whole nation was subjugated by your militancy and the violence that went with it. It’s too late to talk now as our ears have gone elsewhere. Make peace with your creator.

The song “Baya baHelena, baya bahelena, bayabahelena, fwanda fwanda kalindula mayoooo” would have been more appropriate. His leaving reminds me of how simple people in the majority can confound the rich and the powerful (The French Revolution). Yes, our simple & down-to-earth & approachable”Chibuku-looks” man is confounding the rich (hakatoloshi hakasuma), the powerful (non-existent cartel) influential (Mmembe)into shifting their goal posts. Sad! By 22nd January, the dust will have settled & it will be time for me to replace Kambwili or Masebo in parley!! 2016 will be sweet pa parliamentary level.

I concur with you @ SAD MAN. Its like the way Jesus was hated by the world such that people were willing to exchange a robber’s freedom with his. Wynter in my opinion was a clean man and his ascendance to the top jobs in the PF and govt. was a threat to the criminals who saw him as a stumbling block to their evil ambitions. These criminals took advantage of Sata’s incapacity to hound Wynter out of his positions. In all fairness Kabimba did his best to bring sanity in the PF. We all know how many people he fired from their positions for indiscipline. Now with the chaos happening in the PF, any sensible person should vindicate Kabimba and they will surely miss him in the PF.

Am surprised that there are now corrupt and criminals persons in PF(remember Masebo who is close to Wynter also said so a few days ago). Have these criminals/corrupt persons just joined PF in the past 2-3 months or they have always been there even during the time of Wynter as SG. What did he do about them?

Kabimba, stop playing an innocent man. You know deep in side you just exactly who you are. All the violence being seen in PF even today was started by you. An educated man like should have understood that we are past the era of politics of intimidation. You were never elected by anyone, all the positions you ever held were by appointment and that in itself should tell you something….you are not elections material. The best thing for you is to retire from politics and remember one day you and your friends will answer for all your deeds, what goes round comes around.
