The Choma Magistrate’s Court has found Spar Choma, a renowned South African chain store, with a case to answer for allegedly selling food which is unfit for human consumption.
This is in a matter in which the chain store pleaded not guilty to selling expired food.
It is alleged that Spar Choma between March 31 and May 1 this year, sold expired Vanilla cake flour, Coke Premo, chicken pieces, canned Mosi lager, chocolate sponge cake and toothpaste.
When the matter came up for ruling, Magistrate Mbololwa Mukela found Spar Choma with a case to answer.
Spar is being represented by Livingstone-based lawyer Frederick Chuunga.
The matter comes up on December 1 for defence.
