Robert Chikwelete says it is meaningless to remain in the Patriotic Front because it has lost direction.
Chikwelete, who was until yesterday PF Chawama Constituency chairman, said he had resigned from the party he joined in 2004 because it had lost its values. He said the spate of violence that had rocked the party made it difficult for him to continue as a member. “I expected to see unity of purpose and discipline within the party.
Instead, what has emerged in the last few weeks is civil disorder and gross acts of indiscipline by PF members. I have, therefore, today (yesterday) decided to resign from the PF as a member as I don’t want to be associated with the happenings in this party,’ Chikwelete said.
He said he joined the PF because it offered hope for Zambians that were suffocated by the MMD regime. Chikwelete said the events that had occurred from the time president Michael Sata died were an embarrassment not only to members but to the general public. “The spate of violence which we have seen makes it difficult for me to continue as a member of the party.
As a ruling party, one would expect PF to lead by example,” said Chikwelete. Last week, former PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba resigned from the ruling party citing recent happenings.

C’mon Judge, do not be an armchair critic. I have sampled the depths of Zambia. The truth is they are saying that the muzungu does not like what they like. Actually, kaHH is wasting his time campaigning mu L/stone. Poor people received Sata’s physical message as evidence, that is why they want Lungu. But these idiots are busy killing their own party by utter stupidity. Am a sad supporter.

Scot is commanding all security wings.why should he be playing hide and seek.?why not face the pf members where they are gathered. You wanted the conference now you are looking for lame excuses to frastrate people so that they go back and ego is accomplished.Lesa tatemwa.

It it painful, but necessary. In this age, with 9 contenders, to find a person being elected by the show of hands, where only 1 name is mentioned, defeats the very tenets of democracy. On the other hand, to be the convener of such a huge crowd & fail to address it or simply show up is recipe for failure. Guy Scot is up to no good. The EL camp is in too much of a frustration. I wait & see.

Iwe I have been supporting PF since Sata’s days but very disappointed of what PF has been turned into now. The international community is watching Edgar Lungu and what surrounds him so far it’s not a good picture. I see lots of high profile PF members resigning and alot boyi ukanjeba.

Ninkweba kale boyi. That is why the pain! Scot duped Kaseba in thinking that she was a better people’s choice. She got excited & said Sata never anointed anybody but herself & thus the camps arose. Scot & Gen Miyanda can work together coz their rigidity is such that they can even kill their party even on flimsy grounds. Am left partyless.

I am pained personally if we are capable of retrieving old articles I can show you iam one of the people giving credit to Lungu when Sata died, he was calm collected. Alas a week later he fires Scott next 60 MCC put him as their candidate, then a bunch of whatever suspends Scott there after its chaos people are being beaten. Mwebantu. NO NO NO. Infighting in PF will take it down, what will remain? Wait, we are here for another discussion.

Presidency is not about appealing to 5000 people alot comes with it, it goes beyond 5000 people, regionally, nationally and then internationally. Why have a leader surrounded by thugs this is exactly what happens in Zimbabwe you ve a leader but u can’t even borrow a cent from global financiers, whole country goes down. Careful what u ask for.

I am asking again have you ever heard Edgar going to the media and denounce violence from supporters? Learn something from that. Mugabe is very very popular with his party ZANU-PF, and that’s it, his party. He NEVER denounces violence never, he loses national elections on several times but he uses thuggery to stay in power what’s Zimbabwe now? Zimbabwens are scattered in the region with degrees but do diploma works. Mukanjeba.
