PF Polls On Today (No One Has Elected Edgar Lungu, It’s Null And Void – Scott)
ACTING President Dr Guy Scott has declared the election of Edgar Lungu as PF president null and void, saying the true green did not participate in the illegal process.
This was after Lungu was announced as the winner of the intra-party election at the general conference in Kabwe yesterday.
The acting President held a press briefing at the Presidential guest house shortly afterwards and announced that Lungu’s election was null and void.
Dr Scott said he was shocked that Lungu went ahead to participate in the illegal election alone while other candidates were still waiting for the registration of voters to finish.
“The PF constitution provides that I call for the national council and not [party national chairperson] Inonge Wina or Edgar Lungu. Our chairperson for elections [Sylvia Masebo] went to tell them that what they were doing at Mulungushi was wrong but they hounded her out. The other candidates didn’t go to Mulungushi because the place was full of minibus PF cadres, who have been causing trouble there. Half of the people that were at Mulungushi were thugs from the street,” acting President Scott said.
He said it was very disappointing that the PF had started on such a sour note when Michael Sata had only been dead for a few weeks.
“We seem to have a split now. Whether we can cure this split before January 20 is a matter of conjecture,” he said.
Acting President Scott said the registration of delegates would continue and that the election for the party president would be held today where all participants would be present.
“I am going to fetch him [Lungu]. In case he has gone back to Lusaka, we will fetch him using the chopper so that he takes part in the election that will be held tomorrow (today),” answered Dr Scott when a reporter asked him if Lungu would be allowed to participate.
Earlier at Mulungushi Rock of Authority, Wina announced that the national council had adopted the nine applicants for the party presidency.
The returning officer Tutwa Ngulube then asked all the PF members to vacate the conference square for verification of delegates before the vote could commence.
But Masebo, under tight security, arrived and nullified the election process that had been put in motion by Wina and her group.
The move by Masebo was not taken well by those behind the illegal elections she had stopped.
hey hurled unpalatables at her while advancing towards her, forcing the police to fire two gunshots to scare the angry mob.
Despite Masebo’s order, Ngulube went ahead to suspend the delegate verification exercise, saying presidential candidates should first complete their nomination process.
Of all the nine presidential aspirants for the PF presidency, only Lungu was present with his 200 supporters.
After verification of the 200 supporters for Lungu, Ngulube then declared him unopposed and duly elected president of the ruling PF.

why does Lungu not want to go through what the constitution says? For me, these are the guys that turn out to be savages! If he can’t respect the party constitution, what guarantee is there that he will respect the national one! Good democracies are based on the respect for the constitution. Lungu is allowing himself to be controlled by thugs, which is a very poor strategy!

What a shambolic party. Not surprised the founder (MHISRIP) had earned himself a name “UKWA” and it was for a reason. All the crazy occurrences are a reflection of the type of leadership he exhibited. Our people say “how a man lived, is signified by how he is mourned when he leaves this world”.

Remember the acting President mentioned that he would delay the conference if reports of Lungu’s hooligans planning chaos at the conference were confirmed. So its not strange that the elections are being conducted today.

Its now clear there is what Iam calling PF-A led by Scott/ Kaseba and team the there is PF-B led by Lungu. PF-B is more aggressive and there is only one rule – No Rule. while PF-A on the other side is more docile nad trying everything according to the books. PF-B has chosen its leader while PF-A Kaseba is likely to come out tops… more updates but all other candidates attended.

I agree with captm including the wife,for us the real pf who made the party to be in power I mean the youth not party youth us the commonites the local people .our president MICHEAL C. SATA will always be and there is no replacement to that great son for Africa ,just disappointed with PF all of them crocodile tears,
now the jobseekers are now turning around after wasting time and trust of the Zambian people

It is shocking what is happening in the ruling party bcoz if a person can break the law now what if is elected, the wise people say if you want to be the leader of the country, be the leader of the province,if you want to be a leader of the province be a leader of your family. This means that a person has to be a leader of himself before leading others.

it is sad to see the rulling party dis intergrating during to the loss of a hero president sata .thid justifies that pf was purely the late presidents honour .too many divisions ,quarrels,threats and dis orderlliness.the fact is that politics is a game.but a game of intelligency .pf members have forgotten three things due to power hungry. therapy.and these are : they are a rulling party ,opposition pollitical strong holds and peoples perception towards their short comings.probems in the rulling party trickles down to grassroots .there after creating intersocial disputes,amongst party members and civiians at large.giving an opposition party an advantange.so many defections can be recorded including most powerful party officials.my advise to whom it may concernis that failure to have the problem solving skills Will see the rulling party fall.therefore ,let peace come back.the confusions Will negativelly affect the governance of this nation .people Will lose interest and trust. and then divert their support .cinsider my political psychoanalysis .even various ministries May fail in some way.
