Its Over For Lungu- Masebo
Chongwe Member of parliament Syvia Masebo says it’s over for over for Edgar Lungu as far as the PF is concerned and if he thinks he is popular, let him form his own political party . Masebo said Lungu had no powers to fire or suspend anybody in the PF because the process that installed him as party president was illegal. And PF deputy secretary general, Anthony Kasolo, wondered what constitutional powers Lungu used to fire him and his boss Bridget Atanga from their party positions. Masebo, whom Lungu suspended as election chairperson on Monday after his disputed election, said she was a self-made politician who could not be intimidated by the defence minister.
“Lungu is not a PF president. Our official candidate is Miles Sampa. Lungu doesn’t have powers or mandate to suspend anybody. He thinks using thugs, threatening people and forcing them to vote for him is how you become president – it doesn’t work like that and it can’t work,” Masebo said. “I don’t worry about positions, I am self-made; I am Sylvia Masebo. Let them sober up and rally behind Sampa. As far as I and the party are concerned, I am the legal chairperson for elections, Bridget Atanga is our secretary general and Anthony Kasolo is the deputy.” She said Lungu and his team did not follow the party constitution when installing him as party president. “Let Lungu and his colleagues know that in politics, you don’t use force but follow party regulations. His meeting that adopted him was just a gathering of hired thugs and if he thinks he is popular, let him register his own party. It’s finished for him as far as PF is concerned,” Masebo said. She observed that Lungu and his supporters were using social media to mislead the public.
And Masebo said some ministers and members of parliament endorsed Lungu because they were scared of losing their jobs. “Those ministers are worried about losing their jobs. The MPs are worried about their adoptions in 2016. That’s why they endorsed Lungu. But PF belongs to the general membership, they are the ones that make the party win, not ministers and MPs. I feel sorry for them because they have lost it. Meanwhile, Kasolo said Lungu’s decision to dismiss him and Atanga was against the party constitution.
“He [Lungu] is not the president, so where does he draw powers to suspend people? Ask him to show you which provisions in the constitution he was using. How do you conduct elections by way of showing hands? That’s wrong? He organised an illegal assembly; the legal general conference is the one that elected Miles Sampa as PF presidential candidate,” said Kasolo.

Masebo has always been a selfish politician. I remember that she led the faction of ZRA Central executive Committee (CEC) to defect to MMD in Chongwe. She then left MMD to Join PF after causing much confusion in the party. Why should Zambians sure trust and listen to such kind of a person. Shame on you Masebo… Your time is up

Sylvia was together with Kabimba in Ben Mwila’s party and they did the same thing there,CONFUSION. Also, how can the election of SAMPA be legitimate with only 1113 delegates out of 5000 Guy Scot called? that is 20% of expected delegates. I have started to support Lungu. The point is, the meeting Masebo is paising did not form a quorum. Instead of minimum of 2,700 delegates, there were less than 2,000, including those they picked from the streets of Kabwe to show they had the figures.
To stand one needed 200 supporters, 2o from each province, how come your candidates got votes as low as 20, 4, and 7. Lungu was not even there, who filed papers for him to receive 5 votes.
We are not dull, we are watching every step. We now understand why the late president fired you. You have no shame!
