Chipimo Struggles To Raise Supporters For Nominations

NATIONAL Restoration Party president Elias Chipimo Jr, who declared net assets to the value of over K16 million, also struggled to raise 200 supporters required for him to file his presidential nomination papers.

Meanwhile, United Poor People of Zambia’s Freedom Party (UPFP) president Alex Muliokela failed to file his nomination because his party is not registered with the Registrar of Societies.

During the filing of his nomination, Chipimo’s party officials had to mobilise more supporters after the number fell far short of the 200 supporters required to complete the process.

But after successfully filing his papers, Chipimo refused to describe the setback as a struggle, preferring to call it a logistical problem.

BaChipimo bapwa bwangu. Baishile ne cimwela kanshi kapepala. He can do better running an NGO, not a political party. His father was a politician, yes, but not junior.

BaMuliokela can make a good president of Barotseland, not Zambia.
