Man ‘Commits Suicide’ Over Pork

CHRISTMAS Day ended in tragedy for a 32-year-old man of Kasonka village in Mansa who allegedly committed suicide after his younger brother allegedly refused to give him a fair share of pork.
Luapula Province commissioner of police Malcolm Mulenga said yesterday that the incident happened on Thursday and named the man as Eness Musonda.
Mr Mulenga said Mr Musonda’s younger brother, Francis, 28, was given a pig as part payment for some casual work he did and he slaughtered the animal.
“The deceased demanded part of the pig and he was given the head but he was not satisfied and demanded more, but his brother refused to give him,” Mr Mulenga said.

I think he killed himself of disrespectful and lack appreciation as an elder brother from his own young brother. Though in some culture Zulus, Shona and Tswana the head of an animal is an honour but in Zambia is more of ukulu,liver,gizzards. The poor guy just felt insulted.
