Paramount Chief Mpezeni says he has not endorsed any of the eleven presidential candidates in the January 20, 2015 election.
Mpezeni, who spoke through his Induna George Zulu during a media briefing at his Ephendukeni palace on Saturday, said he had been observing closely politicians offering themselves to stand for presidency since the death of Michael Sata.
“Since president Sata died, I have been watching carefully and closely politicians sizing each other to succeed Sata and I have received many calls from meaningful
Zambians to say something about the presidential election, particularly to endorse a preferable presidential candidate,” he said.
Mpezeni said he had opted to remain quiet and consult widely.
He disclosed that last week, he consulted former president Rupiah Banda over the matter.
Mpezeni said he was waiting for Banda to come back from South Africa before he could make his decision.
He said the PF government under the leadership of Sata fostered a lot of development and maintained peace and unity in the country.
Mpezeni said next month’s presidential election was important to the development of the country and warned Zambians to vote wisely.
And Mpezeni said it was not true that he had turned down a request by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to pay a courtesy call on him at his palace.
He said there was procedure followed when any politician wanted to see the chief but that no one from UPND visited him for an appointment.
He said during campaigns it was common for any political leader to meet chiefs as long as there was an appointment.
Meanwhile, Mpezeni said he had invited Edgar Lungu to be a guest of honour at the blessing of his marriage by Chipata Catholic Diocese Bishop George Lungu at Saint Gabriel outstation on January 1, 2015.
Mpezeni said he had also invited Petauke and Nyimba chiefs together with Chipata Central member of parliament Rueben Mtolo Phiri and Chipangali’s Vincent Mwale.

No need to be endorsed by a finished and useless chief who even died for one hour resarected.
He is ghost and as a ghost he should just endorse his felo ghost Edgar Lungu.

It has been discovered that people who comment based on tribal lines who for some time have been masquerading as bembas are actually aliens from Zaire who came into Zambia using backdoors. Real bembas are are social, intelligent, respectful, have no problem to mix no wonder they are found everywhere east, west, south and central. They too, are good analysers and support any QUALITY leader. These facts are there in schools, churches and anywhere else. The people on this platform who insult are ba ‘mwisa’ who came running and now they want to establish themselves here. These tribal remarks where not here even in the pre-independence time when actually people were primitive. Mainza Chona could hand over power to KK selflessly. In the 1964 elections H Nkumbula told the whites that his votes were for KK as well which made KK get the required 50% plus votes to have Zambia independent. Ever since there was no tribalism remarks. 1991 FTJ was voted highest in ALL the polling stations in Southern Province so as is in 1996. Unfortunately, during this period of liberalised economy Zaireans came as traders and by time even forget that they were foreigners thus with their genes of fighting and dancing they begun to speak louder than the real Zambians. They found opportunities for music and dancing but there were no opportunities for fighting thus they started tribal campaigns with few leaders like late Sata who could tolerate it to an extent of misleading him so much that in 2006 he was told not campaign in Western, Southern and North Western saying he could win in only six provinces. This did not work. These ba mwisa have continued to promote tribalism to unsuspecting leaders, cadres and ordinary citizens even deceiving pastors. Not only that but also to an extent of establishing media houses. Now that we know! Now that we are aware! You will not succeed. Zambians are one. Bembas dialects ,tongas dialects , lozi dialects, nyanja dialects, Lunda dialects, Luvale dialects and Kaonde dialects are all one. And you mwisas will not break the bond of oneness our forefathers gave us. Just go back to where you do two things;when you are not dancing then you are fighting. Leaders wake up and check who is surrounding you. Reject these foreigners and their children who they have taught wrong things such as bembas and tongas are at war! Which war? Why then are they not tribal cousins? Tell them that in this piece of land called Zambia war is never permanent and if tribal war arose , the two tribes become tribal cousins. So you zaireans be shameful of yourselves.

May you live long and do not worry yourself with tact as nobody will despise you supporting your subject with your one vote and should he not make it where you want him to be whoever succeeds will take care of your chiefdom. Wisdom! Yes they will take care of him but he shouldnt be so choosy who needs an appointment and who doesnt. As a Chief every subject should be equal in his eyes even if he despises some (tribes).

When people are saying that some regions are too tribal, its a fact. Why do you people pretend and bury your heads in the sand. The fact is that, any person can live and stay in the northern and eastern party of Zambia without problems.
