Prison Life Tough, Says Masumba

PARDONED Mufumbwe member of Parliament (MP) Steven Masumba says it was not easy to cope with imprisonment and has thanked Acting President Guy Scott for pardoning him.
Mr Masumba said he has faced a lot of challenges in his political career but he will not give up.
He said this on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) television’s Sunday Interview programme.
“I have learnt a lot of things whilst in prison, it has built me and it has made me have a different picture of life,” Mr Masumba said.
He said he has a bright future in politics and will continue supporting the Patriotic Front (PF).
“Even if I served the full sentence in prison, I was still going to come out a staunch PF supporter,” Mr Masumba said.
And Mr Masumba said there is need to advocate the improvement of prison infrastructure.
He said most prison infrastructure is pathetic and needs serious attention.
“As much as freedom is restricted, there is need to improve the environment so that people can be healthy,” he said.
Mr Masumba also said he is ready to serve his constituents following his release from prison.
He said Mufumbwe has lagged in development from the time he was incarcerated and he wants to ensure that it catches up.
“It’s like they were in prison with me and I would like to thank them for their patience but I will make it up to them,” Mr Masumba said.

Former Hon. Masumba, you are still young. The best way to go is for you to pursue genuine further studies or embark on genuine business. Politics with a criminal record will be haunting you. Bunang’ani ubo taata, just go for studies.

Masumba! U are a convicted criminal and u must as well forget about politics if u have any morality! Do something else masumba. Politics is not a career to depend on. U are being lazy! Politics is about service but the way u talk about politics, it is as if it is livelihood. Get a life u bastard, u thought u were clever!

KK and VJ were never convicted and they never served any prison term! Masumba is a convicted criminal who has even served part of his term in jail!
