It’s Difficult To Make Promises During Election Time -Scott

Acting President Dr Guy Scott says election time is a bad period for negotiating deals because there is a risk of making a deal with someone who ends up losing.
And Dr Scott says the job of acting president is a difficult one because it is not defined anywhere in the Constitution. Speaking when he met Indunas from the Barotse Royal Establishment at Limulunga palace yesterday, acting President Scott said it was always difficult to make any promises during election time. “I will respond to any issues that you will bring up but of course policy matters are difficult for me to handle.
Election time is not a good time to make or negotiate any deals because you could be dealing with someone that might not win or is leaving,” he said. And acting President Scott said his role was a difficult one as it was not defined in the Constitution. “The job description of acting president is a difficult one because it is not defined anywhere in the Constitution. It is not there. It is an interim job. There are three of us: president Michael Sata, myself and the one who will come in two weeks’ time,” he said.
However, acting President Scott said in the meantime, his job would be to ensure that the transition period is peaceful in accordance with the Republican Constitution. And speaking on behalf of the BRE, Induna Inete condemned the political violence that had taken place in some parts of the country. “We thank you for keeping peace in the country.
As the Kuta, we condemn the violence happening elsewhere in the strongest terms. We hope it will come to an end. We also hope the people concerned will ensure that this violence is put to a stop up to the time we shall go to the polls,” Induna Inete said.
“Don’t relent as far as keeping peace is concerned. Continue on the same path even during the few days that you are acting so that you leave a legacy of peace.” Earlier when he arrived at Mongu airport, acting President Scott said Zambia was a special country whose people manage to live together no matter how much they quarrel.
“Zambia is a special country. As a country, we manage to live together even when we quarrel, be it on race or tribe, we are able to mix. I have come to bring to your attention what we have achieved in the last three years,” said acting President Scott. But soon after acting President Scott left, a group of UPND cadres descended on PF supporters, prompting a violent clash that was only stopped by alert police.

@Bidden, this is an interesting period, I also have one video in which a businessman is being asked to influence his workers to make sure they vote for Hakainde & receive a bonus of K7pin each if the ‘alleged’ Satanist Wins.
