The man who has come to be notoriously referred to as the god father of politics of the belly in the Zambian political periphery, Daniel Munkombwe has declared he is ready to serve under the government of President Edgar Lungu.
Munkombwe, who lost his job as Southern Province Minister in the afternoon after the President elect dissolved Cabinet says he was still a Patriotic Front member but had just endorsed UPND Presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema.
According to a news bulletin by Lusaka’s Radio Phoenix monitored by Mwebantu New Media, Munkombwe has pledged his support for Lungu’s government and was ready to serve if called upon.
“I am ready to work with Edgar Lungu. I just endorsed HH but I am still a member of PF” stated Munkombwe.
President Lungu, Zambia’s 6th Head of State is set to announce his cabinet line up tomorrow.
