LUSAKA, 5th February, 2014—His Excellency Mr Rupiah Bwezani Banda, the Fourth President of the Republic of Zambia, has been appointed co-leader of an election observation mission to the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the country’s 68.8 million voters choose their leaders in the general elections set for next week.
President Banda has been invited to the February 14 Nigerian elections by the United States-based National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) whose chairperson is former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
In his invitation letter, NDI senior associate and regional director for Central and West Africa Dr Christopher Fomunyoh said President Banda’s experience will greatly benefit the NDI delegation as Africa’s most populous nation faces the most competitive election since the transition from military to civilian rule in 1999.
The former head of State will co-lead the NDI delegation with former US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson, former Niger Prime Minister Mahamadu Danda, former Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam and former governor of Colorado Bill Ritter.
President Banda has previously led election observation missions to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya and Sierra Leone under the Carter Center and to the Royal Kingdom of Lesotho under the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa.
He will be accompanied to Nigeria by his assistants Mikatazo Wakumelo and Kennedy Limwanya.

Very poor decision by who ever has appointed him to monitor the elections.
Currently in Zambia, Rupiah Banda is the most hated politician just like Mugabe in the Neighbouring Zimbabwe.
Rupiah Banda should also fell down in Nigeria just like what happened to the Zimbabwean dictator
Robert Mugabe.
Go to Nigeria iwe ci Rupiah Banda but stop going nout with other people’s wives.

Former Youth and Sport Minister Chishimba Kambwili is said to be getting desperate by president Edgar Lungu’s seemingly reluctance to re-appoint him. Kambwilie has reportedly described Lungu as foolish.
And Emmanuel Mwamba, former spokesperson for late Fredrick Chiluba, is about to be appointed Minister of Information.
So far Lungu has been sidelining Emmanuel Mwamba and had even stopped answering his phone calls. Mwamba had believed that he would be the first person to be appointed once Lungu was sworn in. But Mwamba was shocked that Lungu chose to appoint Amos Chanda as his spokesperson. Mwamba and Chanda may pretend and appear to be friends but they hate each other. Mwamba has been campaigning to be appointed minister of information but that would mean he is the boss to Amos Chanda. So Chanda is trying his level best to make sure Mwamba does not get that job.
President Lungu on Tuesday swore in former minister of information Joseph Katema as minister of chiefs ,a position previously held by Nkandu Luo. It is believed that Lungu moved Katema to the minister of chiefs to create space for Emmanuel Mwamba, but the battle is still on and someone else may be appointed.
As for Kambwili, he is tired of waiting. Over the weekend, in a rage of frustration over a drink, it is reported that he was recorded saying “alitumpa sana, kuti asha inne newa mupele presidency nelyo ale chita concede”.
He is very foolish. How can he leave me out when am the one who gave him the presidency when he was conceding.

favor is from God not from people, Mr. RB may the favor from God continue coming to your way. God uplifts those who humbles themselves and drops the boastful ones, We have seen a lot of examples. Jealousy people will never win.

Coincidence? RB has outstanding corruption charges related to oil deals in Nigeria. RB goes to Nigeria with Lungu, without even telling Scot. And now RB is going to Nigeria to oversee elections! Wow! some way of getting his millions into the country via some ‘legitimate’ way!!
