Mfuwe, Friday, February 6, 2015— His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia has made four new appointments to the Foreign Service and challenged the appointees to justify their postings by delivering efficiently.
The appointments, which will take effect upon the receiving countries’ acceptance of the nominees’ credentials, are as follows:
Mr. Humphrey Chibanda: Ambassador-Designate to France (Chief of State Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
Mr. Emmanuel Mwamba: Ambassador-Designate to Malaysia (former Information Permanent Secretary)
Dr. Solomon Jere: High Commissioner-Designate to Nigeria (former Deputy Inspector-General of Police)
Mrs. Brenda Muntemba-Sichilemba: High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya (former Commissioner of Police)
The President has emphasised that he was in a hurry to reposition Zambia in international affairs and he therefore expects robust performance from all Zambian envoys serving abroad.
“I expect very high performance from all those serving in the Foreign Service and will not tolerate misconduct and laziness from anyone. We are in hurry to deliver.”
Meanwhile, President Lungu has delegated his authority to Her Honour Mrs. Inonge Wina, Vice-President of the Republic of Zambia to discharge functions of the office of President from 6th February 2015 till his return from Zimbabwe. The delegation of power is pursuant to Article 39 of the Constitution of Zambia.
The President leaves for Harare this morning for a day’s trip to pay traditional courtesy call on the chairman of SADC, President Robert Mugabe. He will return here to proceed with his retreat to conclude the formation of government.

Ba Kolwe naimwe bushe appointing high commissioners is working kwena muli futu imwe. the man is just delivering on those who helped him. if anything you do not see that , that is an expenditure on the country do you know how much it coasts to For a diplomat to be sent abroad?
If anything he needs to concentrate on clearing the house of the mess Sata had created not appointing people like Sata in state house creating un-necessary positions and sending people outsie the counry.
And you sit there ati Kalebomba, what do you even know about diplomacy imwe bene tata?
He should not do like Sata did appointing and firing people in diplomacy for no reason.
That is money that can be used for elders , do you know anywhere else in Africa elders get at least up to US$80 per month for upkeep as not all eldeers are looked after.
That is what we are looking for creating something new something fresh not sending diplomats ati kalebomba.
Re-evaluate yourself batata.

All people from Eastern Province are rat eaters who cannot also be trusted just like thier Bemba Monkeys Causins.
These two groups of Rat Eaters (Cats or Easterners) and tree climbing animals (Monkeys or Bembas) are very tribalistic and will stop at nothing in insulting Tongas and Lozis.
But be careful you Cats (Rat Easters) and you Tree Climbing animals (Monkeys), your time of staying in Lusaka and Copperbelt Province is now running out.

@Jane please stop this hate. Two wrongs will never make a right. We are all Zambians. We will never be divided. God will always take care of Zambia. We come against division. We come against tribalism. We are not going to tolerate negativity in our already limping country economically. We refuse to be drawn backwards. Forward we shall go. We should respect one another because that way we respect God and He will reward us. Let us never advocate for sessions and continuation of tribalism. Please mature up and let education have a positive effect on you. I can see you are a very educated person. Support the president (and not PF as you may want) because we have to set this standard as Zambians. I am a proud Zambian and a proud Tonga at that and no one will ever take that away from me apart from God. Hence I am proud of our president and he needs my support. I will surely need support from others now and in future.
