Lungu To Address Angolan MPs

Angola President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has invited President Edgar Lungu to address a special session of Parliament in addition to official invitation to witness the launch of the reconstructed Benguela railways on February 14, 2015.
President Lungu has accepted the invitation and has thanked his Angolan counterpart for the extraordinary honour, which he says will greatly cement Zambia’s renewed relations with its strategic neighbour on the north western border.
President Lungu says he has humbly accepted the honour, which he says is in line with deliberate steps undertaken by the late President Michael Sata, who upon assumption of power in 2011 assigned former president Kenneth Kaunda as special envoy to fully normalise Zambia’s relations with Angola.
The Head of State is pleased that his Angolan counterpart has decided to upgrade the status of the visit to include the honour of addressing a special session of Parliament, the first ever such act by a Zambian President.
The President will visit the memorial of founding President Antonio Agostinho Neto, attend full military honours and State Lunch at the Presidential Palace.
After addressing Parliament in the capital Luanda, Presidents Lungu and dos Santos will fly to Luau, Moxico Province to join DRC President Joseph Kabila for the official launch of the rehabilitated Benguela Railways.
President Lungu will unveil a plaque, get a special briefing on the Lobito Transport Corridor and later hold a joint Press Conference with Presidents dos Santos and Kabila.

Excellent relations to benefit Our economy by providing an alternative export route to The Atlantic ocean and good business for the Zambia railways to rail in some oil wagons from Angola. The business options are immense.

EL will not be derailed. While he has a good charactor of not talking too much and humble, he also has a thick skin and cannot be nicked by these talkative comentators like HH, Milupi, Saunders,Vernon etc.

They are on record to say that since MC become president we never receieved foreign Presisdents visiting Zambia and that our image was not good.

Now, EL wants to “repiar” that image, they are now saying, NO! stay home. What sort of creatures are these?

Very irresponsible president. Instead of solving the problems in his country, he goes to Zimbabwe and now to Angola.

HaJane, I normally do not consider your nonsense, but for the information of other bloggers, I wish to mention that attending a trination launch of the Benguela Rail line is actuall resolving problem back home. FQM and Lumwana will export copper through the Benguela corrido instead of the longer SA link.

Zambia is land linked. The more we open corridos, the more our neighbours respect us for the business unlike now where we face ever changing rules of logistics like never to drive fonkong in SA.

Hajane, even the people you think you support are sick of you. You lose them votes like Munkombwe.

@Ken: You are suffering from a condition called ‘hell-sink syndrome’ those kind of gullible minions who cant tell a bus driver to start off even when the bus is full and the conductor is busy collecting your money. Question things man: with people like you, Isaac Newton would be laughed at if you were the first ones to hear him ask ‘ Why is an apple falling downwards?’

Jane mulenga is doing fine decampaigning hh in 2016 as usual. I hate all Upnd supporters because they make hh look so stupid. The guy is ok but surrounded by useless idiots in the name of supporters. If us in pf were to campaign for hh he can win in 2016.

I you have been appointed by EL but if you are Kambwili or shi Nono or Simuusa or Luo or Bishop Chomba or Miles or Brian Hapunda or E Mwamba then you what we call agony.

And yet the idiot cannot face his own people on a presidential debate. He instead chooses to please foreign MPs who do not give an eastern province rat about him. A case of misplaced priorities which is not strange coming from PF. Vote wisely in 2016

Yu call yourself as educated whatever and yet yo language does not agree with you. From your leader hh to the cadre you all ‘ve a language. Come out of your shells and come to real terms with life. We ‘ve already passed that yo level of ukulibonesha.

You are a lost cause. I find it hard to reply to idiots like yourself. However, I will try my best. I think my language was as clear as urban area tap water. Any sensible man with a sense of priority will understand the need for solving one’s internal problems before associating himself with outsiders’ issues. I mean even the developed world are doing this. They have decided to restrict the amount of immigrants coming in their countries and have resorted to prove to their electorate that they matter. Meanwhile this rat you call your leader is busy gallavanting in another corrupt country addressing their corrupt law makers. Very dull president. Soon you will regret casting that vote for the wrong rat

The New Educated Zambian is right. Lungu ran away from presidential debates. Now he is running away from people who made him president but he is ready to address MPs in a foreign country. He can’t even come up with names of his cabinet ministers. This not leadership!

Zambia is a land locked country, therefore there is need to have a short route instead of South Africa. only people always want to criticise can not see how important this is. Put hatred aside and point at serious issues. Be it pf,upnd or any other party ,insulting one another will not help or benefit any of you. Exporting and Importing things through S.Africa is expensive, too much restrictions and takes time. y

To be rational, call a spade a spade. Zambia has been absent from the international scene for the past three years and this has a retarding effect on the economy as evidenced by the economic indicators so to say.
The Benguela Railway was deliberately destroyed by the agents of imperialism for the purpose of weakening and slowing the economic advancement displayed by Dr. K.D. B. Kaunda then.
This will definitely shorten the route to the ports and up the rate of trade by swift movement of Goods and services. Well thought Edgar and for once lets see if we can see something positive in even those we perceive as our foes.
