“A 30-year-old man drowned along the Juskei river in Buccleuch, north of Johannesburg during a baptism ceremony this Sunday morning at around 10am,” spokesman Robert Mulaudzi.
“He was confirmed dead-on-scene.”
Mulaudzi said city emergency services urged church practitioners to make sure the area was safe before conducting baptisms, or to rather conduct them in a safer environment.
