CHIPOLOPOLO coach Honour Janza says the current Under-20 team is in good shape and will play an integral role during the qualifiers for the senior team. In an interview, Janza said he had faith in the young players ahead of the Africa and World Cup qualifiers.
He said he would incorporate more Under-20 players in the senior team because they were able to quickly adapt to his philosophy.
Janza said the current Under-20 team was in good shape and most of the players would play an integral role during the qualifiers for the senior team.
“I think there will be more Under-20 players in the team; they are adapting well to the philosophy and are able to meet the demands of the modern game,” Janza said after watching the Under-20 in training. He further praised US-based midfielder Benson Sakala, saying he would be a good replacement for Nathan Sinkala.
“Benson should not lose focus. Sometimes I get worried with Sinkala and I think Benson is the best replacement. The young players have shown that they have the right attitude and technical abilities,” he said.
Janza took a bold step at the 2015 Africa Cup by leaving out veteran players such as Christopher Katongo, Jacob Mulenga and Collins Mbesuma in preference for Under-20 players.
