Nigeria Wary of Junior Chipolopolo

ELIZABETH CHATUVELA – Niamey
NIGERIA under-17 national team coach Emmanuel Amunike says his team will not underrate Zambia or any other team competing at the Africa Junior Championship in Niger.
Zambia face Nigeria on Saturday at Stade Municipal. Guinea and hosts Niger are the other teams in Group A.
Amunike said in an interview on Tuesday that the junior Chipolopolo are a formidable side.
He said Nigeria have to work hard to earn qualification for the 2015 Chile World Junior Championship.
“This is a tournament for young players and anything can happen. Teams in Group A are all good but unpredictable. So we just have to aim to win and nothing else,” Amunike said.
Nigeria faced Guinea yesterday.
Amunike also commended the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for curbing age-cheating.
“The under-17 are our future national teams and what CAF has done to curb age-cheating is really commendable. This is what was missing in football,” he said.
Nigeria have won the Africa under-17 title four times.
