Loss of Senga Hill Parliamentary Seat Shocks MMD

MMD national secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima has described as shocking and a great loss the Supreme Court’s nullification of the election of Senga Hill member of Parliament (MP) Kapembwa Simbao.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court nullified the election of Mr Simbao as Senga Hill MP and overturned the High Court decision that he was duly elected after finding that his election was marred with electoral malpractices.
Patriotic Front (PF) losing candidate Giles Yambayamba had appealed to the Supreme Court after the High Court found that Mr Simbao was duly elected as MP for Senga Hill.
But Mr Mbulakulima said that his party will not condemn anyone for the nullification of Mr Simbao’s seat.
He, however, said the MMD is saddened by the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the High Court judgment that Mr Simbao was duly elected Senga Hill MP.
“We are shocked that the case that Mr Simbao won at the High Court has been overturned by the Supreme Court finding that the election was marred with electoral malpractices,” he said.
Mr Mbulakulima said in an interview yesterday that Mr Simbao was one of the dependable MMD MPs.
He said Mr Simbao’s contribution to Parliament was robust and immense.
Last week, the Supreme Court nullified the election of another MMD MP, Michael Katambo, as representative of Masaiti parliamentary constituency.
PF candidate Sturdy Mwale petitioned Katambo’s election on grounds of widespread undue influence, bribery, intimidation and violence.

This is not a shock. It is a shock only to sleeping dunderheads like this chap. We all know that PF has always abused and used government machinery in their favour. They were taught by one experienced crook called Sata. They are only doing as we expected them to do. They will try and win this seat, howver we in the UPND will ensure we put up a very formidable campaign in the hope that illiterate zambians who are in majority will see sense in real policies. Vote UPND

you are very right. No illiterate will vote for hichilema because only literates are able to make informed decisions such as voting UPND in. The only illiterates that will be able to vote for change are those that have would have panel beaten into literate ones. So techincially they wouldnt be illiterates anyway. Vote UPND

That wholesale mode of petitions that followed the 2011 PF victory has turned into a stale action by the courts. Nullifying a seat & only to vote for an MP that shall seat in parley for 2 months before the Assembly is dissolved. A sheer waste of resources. But what can we say; Law is law%

PF are a disappointment to our governing system Sata played retrogressive politics, even Chiluba or Levy NEVER behaved the way these goons are behaving.

everyone should fight corruption, bribery, abuse of office… and so the only thing we should press for is quick disposal of cases in courts of law. These vices are cancerous and should not be tolerated. Too sad for Hon Simbao: I saw in him a credible man yet he belonged to a rotten party.

but u seem to be more iliterate than the actual ileterates in that you comments lack wisdom.Obviously wali icikopo saana kusukulu u tonga ngombe ilede,Under 5 will never be president.Tukakolopa kwati cikolopo tulebomfya and u and yo upnd will curse the day u came into existence.we are going to use govt machinery .We will vote in large numbers, then we will only allow new registrations in our strongholds. No new registration in ingombe ilede southern province, whoever will despute will find himself in chimbokaila, then we will delay distribution of ballot papers in your strongholds.Since we the iliterates are the majority why not just concede in advance coz the majority will always win. Then theres no need of even holding elections since pf having the majority on their side have already won 2016 elections

haha the last kicks of a dying horse. Do you see how incoherent you sound. The MMD government also thought they would use government machinery and advantage to hold onto power. Alas things changed for even the worse in that the illiterates got power. However, with the full force of UPND on the ground a new change is coming up where we are seeing an educational revolution where people are now more informed and are making more informed deicsions. UPND is now the biggest oppositon party. Keep dreaming. you will cry pellet. silly cadre

PF will win by a very wide margin in 2016 becoz we are definitely also going to vote to trial lines. We are not fools, we will show tonga that they are very little in this country. We will you teach a very big lesson this time around. Watch the space and stop misleading people. We live in Zambia and we know what is going on. Flight HH2016 will crash again and will collapse becoz of shock.

How can I surely reply to such ignorant drivel? This my friend is what the PF stands for. Tribal politics based on trivial issues. How do you surely expect such people to run the country on an equitable basis? I do not even need to campaign vigorously for UPND because these PF chaps are good at decampaigning themselves.

UPND lost by a small percentage and at the rate the PF is now performing with a visionless president, I foresee a very easy upset and change in power. Nothing personal here. When I give my view they are not based on tribe. why should you? We are one mune.
