Peter Sinkamba Sets Up Company To Cultivate Weed

Green Party President Peter Sinkamba has announced he is set to meet Drug Enforcement Commissioner Alita Mbawe this week to present the conceptual framework for his proposed pilot Green Gold Medicinal Marijuana Investments Project.
The ambitious project will see the Green Party cultivate, process, and dispense marijuana (cannabis/hemp) for medicinal purposes pursuant to Section 9 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, Cap 96 of the Laws of Zambia implemented by Worldwide Environmental Risks Surveyors Limited (WERS), a Zambian registered company that he owns.
The proposed Cultivation Facility will be situated on the Copperbelt. In addition, four pilot Medical Marijuana Dispensary Centres are proposed to be opened and located in Kitwe, Ndola, Lusaka, and Livingstone.
The pilot project is planned to produce approximately 500 tonnes of processed medicinal marijuana per annum by 2017. Capital expenditure for the proposed project is Ten Million United States Dollars (US$10, 000, 000). The proposed commencement date for pilot activities is June, 2015.
Sinkamba said this in a statement made available to Mwebantu New Media in Lusaka.

green party thinks outside the box..they understand better than these other political parties claim they can only deliver if elected into power..is it not possible to per sue Ur dream before u enter power… e.g. help the poor, build a school… buy bins for the roads…anything to show that u care or at least pretend to care…I’m talking to u Hh…do something now so we know u just wont pocket every little ngwe u get wen u come into power.if u have a vision for the people the presidential seat shouldn’t be an excuse for u not to help..

Atleast the green party is able to tell us what their vision is. With forecasted firgures and targets unlike the PF who has a clueless chicken running around issuing threats and what not to the common man on the street. This is a good idea, however it will require high regualtion like our friends in the netherlands have. Regulation is not cheap as it should ensure that those enforcing the same regulations have no higher incentive to flaunt the rules. There is need to carry out impact assessments and pilot projects first to see how this will go. ALot of work is needed.

At least, Sinkamba knows that he doesn’t have to wait to be in Plot one for him to help build Zambia. Unlike HH & his goons who believe that they can only show their true worth from state house.

      • New Educated Zambia   February 25, 2015 at 8:46 pm

You are obsessd with HH mwana. You should understand that HH’s position is not for life. Even you if you want get membership of UPND. It is free. And if you put up a good leaderhsip contest at our next convention you can be UPND president. And should you stick to the ideals of the UPND we will support you. Nothing complicated about that.Do not be emotional. Defend Lungu and tell us what vision he has to deal with the problems we are facing

When one is drunk and falls short of plans can easily convince someone to accept the worst and view it best option. We can do better with that money spent on wheat or Rice in Mongu plains. Can someone advise this man not to polute the nation. There are many respectable ventures he can go into. Before we know it half the nation will either directly or indirectly be dagger smokers. A country of confusius?

Very dull chap. You train of thought ends where your asss begins. Your train of thought is polluted. Ever heard of regulation? Ever being to the netherlands or if not even attempted to read the effects of legalisation of marjuana in a regulated environment? Do you realise that you can still ban the domestic use of marijuana but allow for its exportation? Tpyical of PF cadres, they can have millions of dollars right under their nose but still continue suffering.vote UPND for effective leadership

For your own information, Green party is a subsidiary of PF hence the wacked mind

        • New Educated Zambia   February 24, 2015 at 1:21 pm

I am not here to support green party but i side with them on this idea. In the same way if PF came up with a policy that I felt was beneficial to all, I would speak positively of it. Nothing personal here mune. I am an objective thinker

High Value crop! The best minds on the planet were once ridiculed because most people can not see a different dimension from what they are used to. Unless they see it in America,it shall always be ridiculed! Go for it Sinkamba.

  10. vampiro   February 24, 2015 at 1:47 pm

Drugs whether legal or illegal threatens the security of the nation. Its easy to come up with the ganja concept but controlling of vices that come along with it is a nightmare.
Am surprised someone called it a better vision. Political parties visions forms the preamble of the their manifesto I guess and if one want to educate himself on the parties vision they better consult the manifestos.

  11. Best   February 24, 2015 at 1:48 pm

Why do people citicise things they have no knowledge about? Ibange talipenya umuntu…u inherit ama genes ya bushilu from your descendents and u wanna blame it on ganja…. God made the marijuana plant for spiritual, medicinal and recreational purposes… and he said it good Genesis 1:29. Tell me… who the hell are u to say its bad??? Sinkamba Peter is a visionary leader and surely we will triumph.

You have very bright ideas which eventually will set our economy free.As you may be aware,we have had this ‘Flag Independence’ for jubilee years but Economic Independence’has always eluded us. As a graduate of Bio-molecular engineering,I shall volunteer to be involved with this project as a General Manager.

because he has seen an opportunity worth exploiting. How many times do we read about people being caught illegally cultivating and profitting from marijuana? Why not capture these people who are not paying tax but making profits from this tree and tax them by regulating the cultivation and ensuring that it is not used for abuse purposes? Learn to think beyong your village mune

  25. Umwina Nkana   February 25, 2015 at 8:42 am

Actually Israel and some states in the US are way ahead on this front. All that is needed is an appropriate legal framework for managing the sector and product. The policy of banning activities is the easiest way out but not always the best! Let’s be open minded!

  26. one tim   February 25, 2015 at 8:55 am

cultivating marijuana is a very dangerous arrangement I wouldn’t support that drugs have destroyed a lot of people’s lives.

  27. Kwati like so   February 25, 2015 at 9:40 am

Gud move sinkamba ? All we nid is high security in production/ processing zones, like security given wen BOZ is transfering money. This is a money spinner venture bane! Lets stop poverty in the world of abundance.

  28. label leader   February 25, 2015 at 12:10 pm

Efyo bawesu Mr sinkamba maybe he as vision, lets give him some space, but of course not to be president of the nation with only a vision to legalise “WEED”

  29. nakferd   February 25, 2015 at 7:06 pm

Leave this man alone. Moreover he is creating jobs for zambians. I would even love him more if he can put up good working conditions for zambians, because many private companies are terrible to work for. LET’S GO GREEN ZAMBIA!!!!!!

Never you pretend those of you who are refusing the gentleman to go this way. You are all GANJA people , because all you know is KANJA is for paffing and yet not. You are all showing signs of having smoked it at some time in your life that is why you all write agaist it. Experience is the best teacher. For your own information, this staff may be used for some medicinal purposes. I support the gentleman’s idea as long as proper measures will be put in place to protect it go to such people as thes commentators who might end up smoking it.

    • YOU ARE ALL FOOLS   February 27, 2015 at 3:32 pm

People will still abuse its intended use. Abusing it will outweigh its correct use.
