A STRANGER in her late 20s was on Friday apprehended at the Ministry of Home Affairs Headquarters in Lusaka for loitering after she was discovered in an office on one of the upper floors at the ministry’s building.
Some officials said the unidentified woman was found in the typing pool, unaccompanied and she could not explain what she was doing there.
“She was found in the typing pool and when asked what she was doing there, she said she had been sleeping, claiming she wasn’t feeling well, but how did she find herself there is a mystery?
“It seems this was not the first time she walked into the ministry, she must have done this before – whatever she was doing there, and with all these stories about information leakages you never know,” one officer said.
Ministry employees seemed agitated at the discovery and wondered how she managed to pass the security check, where it was later discovered she did not register her name as a visitor.
The workers also said the woman’s presence could lead to criminal activities like loss of mobile phones and other hand-held gadgets from the offices.
Ministry of Home Affairs in Lusaka is the head office of all Government departments of national security including the police, the Immigration Department, national registration and the Zambia Prisons Service among others.
Efforts to get a comment from the ministry spokesperson Moses Siwale were unsuccessful as his mobile phone went unanswered.
Recently, President Edgar Lungu called for confidentiality and increased security within Government departments to prevent secret information and documents from falling into unauthorized hands.

Haha this has indeed made me laugh. SO what this is telling us is that the government that is tasked with ensuring internal national security is not competent enough to even ensure security on their office doorstep. Surely how can we rely on this government to ensure state security to us? For all we know this woman is a victim of poor PF policy that has led her to being homeless and poor. Even then she shouldnt be able to breach security. Please vote for UPND to ensure internal and international security for zambian citizens. The government does not care for you and my security if they cant secure their own offices. useless

I am not tonga if that is what your are insinuating. And yes it is possible for a non tonga to be a supporter of the UPND because some of us are not backward to vote on tribal lines. Please take your head out your backside as you have clouded your thoughts with very shitty tribal sentiments. You illiterate punk. It is funny that the people that keep singing the tribal song are mostly PF cadres. What you scared of?

bla bla bla.Same tribal talk. Getting boring mate. Give us your views on why simple security breaches are happening while you are in power. Do not cowardly shift the issue to your insecurity of a tribe that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. it is the same in europe. When things start going bad, the populists and the lazy chaps pick on hard working immigrants as the reason for their failure. indeed the name PF suits you because you are all pathetic failures.
