6 Injured In Choma Accident

Six passengers travelling on a Mitsubishi Canter truck from Choma to Namwala are nursing injuries after being thrown out of the vehicle when its driver lost control and rammed into a tree.
Southern Province assistant commissioner of police Kashif Mphande said in an interview yesterday that the accident, which happened around 20:30 hours on Monday on the Namwala road, left the passengers, aged between 17 and 45, with injuries.
In another development, police in Mazabuka have arrested a 29-year-old man of Nakambala township for allegedly being in possession of forged K100 notes amounting to K4,200.
Mr Mphande identified the suspect as Luyando Simukali, who has been arrested and charged with possession of fake bank notes.
