Kafue Man Commits Suicide After Failing To Pay K24 Debt

A 31-year-old man of C7 in Kafue Estates has committed suicide after failing to pay back a debt of K24 he owed a named man of the same area.
The deceased’s elder brother, Muyuni Nyambe, said Lwakala Nyambe hanged himself in his bedroom. Close friends and family members disclosed that Nyambe was on Thursday asked to pay the K24 he owed a certain man by 18:00 hours, failing which he would be taken to police, but he opted to take his own life after he failed to find K24.
“Lwakala owed a certain man some money…about K24 and he was told to pay back the money by 18:00 hours yesterday (Thursday) and after failing to find the K24, he opted to commit suicide by hanging himself in his bedroom.
As a family, we are so touched because the amount of money that led to him taking his life is too small because had he told one of us, we would have helped him pay off the debt,” said a family member.

A sad state of affairs. I do not agree with the man that killed himself as I believe that tthere is always a way, no matter how hard life gets. However, again I refer to the PF’s government’s failure to ensure their citizens are economically empowered. If a government is carelessly borrowing money and not thinking of putting in place strategies and ways to ensure that income will be generated to repay money, what do you expect from a citizen? This man was borrowing knowing well he couldnt pay. Poverty and lack of sustainable incomes due to PF’s failure is now leading to people killing themselves in very pathetic of situations. Surely 24 kwacha mwebantu! I cry for my country. Vote UPND

True reality living in a society of the ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’. Teaches us that the “small change” being misapplied and pilfered by a few would go a long way in mitigating the plight of the poverty stricken. Only that those we elect into office to address issues of major affect to the larger citizenry are busy lining their own pockets. Here K 24 equates the worth of a life.

Check on the USA, China, Japan, South Africa & Botswana. Countries of sound economies in their own right. They have slums, the homeless, the richest and the poorest. It is folly to believe that a political party shall redeem you from your financial woes. Even Chairman Mao failed. Thus, poverty emancipation lies with an individual. Even that idiet that has killed himself, he must have negotiated for an extention. You people, the Police does not EAT defendants! ! Chena catina ukuya ku buju, ati “Kamfwefye”.

And tbe family members say ”If he had ponono-ponono!” Mostly, we, that are doing well in families look down on relatives that are struggling when they approach us! Aisa kulomba K70 for the rent of ramshackle, ulefwena nakwitole, ati try to see me on tues after the holiday! You demon!! Komboni landlords have no holiday! Washita na 2GB bundle ya airtel @ 180! Murders! I met this rich goon with a bank balance of K18M. His sister that had lost work asked for at least K5pin loan to help her supply cookers as a kick start: the guy refused ati “not at the moment”. 2 months later, the sister died of depression, uyu chikkalantensha bought a K2pin coffin, sponsored a K1.5pin funeral + other expenses!
