Dear Editor,
We Zambians are so hypocritical.We mostly think we are the only nation that is closer to God hence avoid talking on issues that affect the nation in a pretext of unity and One Zambia One Nation crap which does not and will never exist untill we come back to reality and face head on this tribalism and hatred that is slowly eating up the country.
Zambians believe that when we publicly tell Tongas to stop tribalism,that means we are dividing the Nation.Only hypocrites and limited thinkers think in those lines.
Since myself i’m not a slow or limited thinker,i will continue talking about it so napapene ndesosa.
This just shows that i love Tongas more than all of u pretenders.
On public u say sweet things about Tongas then in inbox u say something different.

Last weekend in Choma,the Clinical officer at Choma General Hospital named Mr Mapulanga had assulted two Tonga women at a shabeen after they were heard celebrating Edgar Lungu’s collapsing.
Initially,the Tonga ladies were mocking the District Chairlady Mrs Sikute telling her that
“Your president has collapsed.We shall again celebrate his death until our president HH is voted in.”
Mrs Sikute started aguing with the two ladies until Mr Mapulanga lost his temper and beat them up.
The two assulted ladies are from Shampande Township of Choma.
This assult case is active in the Choma Police Department.
So,should u hypocrites continue avoiding talking about tribalism?
-Exposure is important.
-Knowledge is power.
-Broad mindedness is vital.
Wake up from slumber u hypocrites and let us help our Tonga brothers and sisters!

Stupid article that assumes all tongas are tribal people. It is even more foolish that the editor allowed such drivel to be published. Where in their interactions did those ladies promote tribalism. So just because lungu is not their preferred candidate then automatically they are tribal. It is u idiots that need to wake up and realise that even many of us non tongas are fed up with pfs failures. U need get over yourselves and stop assuming tribalism.

You are not a non-tonga bwana. Remind any tonga about their being tribal, the least you get is a furious reaction. Ask a bemba, for instance, if they are so; all you get is a laugh. casual laugh for that matter. The two reactions mean a lot by interpretation. Just read again your reaction in your comment, total frustration! Ask any Tonga if there is tribalism in Zambia, the answer is an emphatic “YES.” Ask them if any Tonga is tribal the answer is an EXPRESS “NO” but they will quickly tell you they are just hated by Bembas. As for Lozis, they are not as people perceive them to be,tribal. They are just humble, reserved and appear isolated. Unfortunately, they are just being dragged into this tribal web by some force in the name of cousin-ship. You know the force!

what are the two most spoken languages in the capital city of zed?nyanja,bemba or tonga.which town is the shortest distance to lusaka?kasama,chipata or mazabuka?if you answer these simple questions,then you will know which tribes are full of themselves,keep the languages to themselves and hence tribal.open up tongas and start teaching us HHHH too.one zambia,one nation!

my friend called me and told me he will bring a present for me. i was shocked to see a present A POST NEWS PAPER showing how lungu collapsed. For sure our brothers and sisters from south need help. They were saying they said what they said about sata becoz of what sata said about mazoka now what did lungu say about Tongas that made them be happy when he collapsed

Ian a Tonga and I was one of the milions of people that cerebrated the collapse of the Kachasu Man.
I cerebrated the collappse by calling 43 of my freinds and spent K5,000 buying all sorts of food staffs. Just find out from the acades and spare shopping complexes, we really cerebrated Edgar Lungu’s near death, what more during his burial next year? No we will dance and drink.

Tribalism is taught and promoted by people obsessed with it. Ordinary street people have no issues with tribe yet for politicians it becomes a strategy to win votes. Time every person listened to themselves on the issue of tribalism and make self befitting choices. In Zambia tribalism equates racism. This backwardness will carry us through to the 2016 general elections.

Bemba s have been practicing tribalism before and after independence to an extent that other tribes started speaking Bemba for harmony . But through cultural ceremonies people have identified how important their tribes are. Not everyone who speaks be Bemba is Bemba. Today the bembas are scared because reality has started to became clear in the minds of Bembas. Remember there no resources to boost of in northern , muchinga luapula. We can do away with these provinces and have peace and harmony than have these quacks being part of us , western, southern, central, eastern, Copperbelt , Lusaka , northwestern.

Look at the facts facing you and you will be doing yourself a favor by admitting that the PF government under Michael Sata, MHSRIP, was the worst culprit. Edgar is trying to clean up the mess although he also seems to be more inclined to selecting people from eastern Province. What do you people see? The Bemba-Ngoni alliance against all other tribes?

With the current PF strategies, we must be careful, or else 2016 is a disaster! If we had another leader 2015 it was going to be a walk over against PF. Travel to all districts where Tongas live and you will be suprised as to how many languages are spoken. Go in all govt departments and see how many people are not Tongas who head and work there. Visit other provinces and the towns and then judge who are really tribalists in action and deed. The only crime my country men from Chuundu committed is that they fend for themselves even where their is little government support which translates to balitemwa!
Twenty years in opposition is not a joke and yet they rarely suffer from hunger, starvation and desistitution. Northern, Luapula sank under Kaunda, Eastern ate rats and sufocated under Chiluba and Mwanawasa and only rose under RB. Southern has stood resolute without compromise to offer opposition. Look at how Nevers Sekwila Mumba has been reduced to Chikolopo by ECL all in the name of Mbuyaship. Without HH no opposition as MMD is a wing of PF. Appointments to all offices are on tribal lines and chimbuya, then you Chansa say we help Tongas about tribal inclination. Shame on you.

sad indeed! Anyway, you witnessed that which you saw, and I too witnessed what I saw here in Ndola, Kitwe & Chingola. Here bembas say bublicly that “umu Tonga teti ateke, elo takatekeko akafwilapofye”. Honestly how would bembas say that evil & satanic thinking boldly yet christian nation?
After chief just declared El a winner, Ndola was noise as bembas sung songs of insulting HH & Tongas all types of insults, & how do you think Tongas felt here in Copperbelt yet you are the same people noising one Zambia one Nation & christian nation inwardly ravening wolves!
Honestly if it was bembas who raised 80% for Zambia to be independent, bembas would have said only a bemba should rule, now thank God who knew this & gave the opportunity to Tongas to raise imagin 80% from southern alone & 20% from 8 provinces, I am humbled.
God himself will recognise & ever bless the Tonga people since other tribes especially bembas & nyanjas can NOT acknowledge their humbleness, hardwork & love for other Zambian tribes.

While I see Chanda Chashi’s article as childish and not helpful I did go through randomly the comments just to have a feel of divergent views though the insults disappointed me. Since the article is pointing at Tonga I began to wonder what tribal experiences the non-Tonga bloggers who may have had opportunity to enroll in educational institutions as Caniscius, Kasiya, Hillcrest, St Edmunds, Chikankata, Njase, St Marks etcetera in Southern Province would share during their times of dodging classes or just playing ‘truant’ and got to mingle with Tonga’s in surrounding villages. The same for Tonga’s and others who enrolled in educational facilities in other provinces. I have reason that these would provide a richer debate on dealing with the tribal scourge. I remember my own experience to Tongaland at first working appointment I had hardly settled down when I was led to be shown a piece of land where I’d grow my food (maize). Thus to me Chanda is only relishing in wanting to cause a storm in a teacup! When a hippo condemns all crocodiles it may not be the fairest judgement.

Me i feel we shud stop calling this tribalism. This is pure regionalism where the southern region with their cousins want to rule and the northerners with their cousins also want to rule. This is a problem for all and not the southerners , we need stop this as a whole.
