Me i feel we shud stop calling this tribalism. This is pure regionalism where the southern region with their cousins want to rule and the northerners with their cousins also want to rule. This is a problem for all and not the southerners , we need stop this as a whole.

Its true they are tribal but even the bembas are also a problem.in short bembas and tongas are a problem.bambas think they are above all and tongas by all means they want a Tonga to rule no matter the development they LL receive.

While I see Chanda Chashi’s article as childish and not helpful I did go through randomly the comments just to have a feel of divergent views though the insults disappointed me. Since the article is pointing at Tonga I began to wonder what tribal experiences the non-Tonga bloggers who may have had opportunity to enroll in educational institutions as Caniscius, Kasiya, Hillcrest, St Edmunds, Chikankata, Njase, St Marks etcetera in Southern Province would share during their times of dodging classes or just playing ‘truant’ and got to mingle with Tonga’s in surrounding villages. The same for Tonga’s and others who enrolled in educational facilities in other provinces. I have reason that these would provide a richer debate on dealing with the tribal scourge. I remember my own experience to Tongaland at first working appointment I had hardly settled down when I was led to be shown a piece of land where I’d grow my food (maize). Thus to me Chanda is only relishing in wanting to cause a storm in a teacup! When a hippo condemns all crocodiles it may not be the fairest judgement.

– A feeling of identity and loyalty to one’s tribe
in short who ever is from Ur tribe u feel proud to know they are Ur kind,a certain pride to want to be with or associate urself with them,so u can say we are all a bit tribal,but if I was running a school and a dull bemba and a smart tonga came to look for a teaching place,I would choose Tonga,only problem is if u turn the coin around it won’t happen the same with them..understand?

it could have been 100% only that the other 2% died in the last 3years sata ruled and the more u deny it the more it shows,its like u have a chipute on Ur bam and u ignore it due to foolish faith ati Lesa akanposha,its simple facts admitting Ur weakness is the strongest way to fix it,but of course words always fall on deaf ears with u guys doesn’t it,its Ur talent,taking away Ur tribalism is like taking away Ur title of being a Tonga.

as long as we continue being poor collectively through poor leadership,zambians wil be bitter more over we vote on tribal lines with no vision but best of all,all tribes buy from the same shops and we all que for fuel also the kwacha suffers for all and when other countries laugh at zambia they know who to laugh at
