Woman Gang-Raped
AN 18-year-old woman was last week on Tuesday allegedly gang-raped by a truck driver and his lorry-mate on her way from Chipata to Lusaka, Trauma Healing Centre (THC) executive director Juliet Mutale has said.
Ms Mutale said yesterday that the named woman was allegedly running away from her abusive grandmother when she met her fate.
“We are currently counselling the woman. She was taken to hospital where tests were conducted. She is a double-orphan and does not have any relative in Kitwe. In an attempt to run away from her grandmother who was abusing her, she jumped on the truck that was coming to Kitwe but on the way, the truck driver and his lorry boy repeatedly raped her on the way to Kitwe,” she said.

If you read and understand English correctly, you would notice that the story narrates of a girl in a desperate situation running away from abuse. One does not expect a person in her circumstance to have money to pay for her transport. It’s inhuman to take advantage of such a destitute and sexually abuse her. She is a double orphan and God really does not take joy in such. May He strike the abusers with lightening and jobreaker may you also repent for your uncompassionate comment towards an orphan’s mishap.

Jobreaker how can she afford transport when the pf government have failed the economy. Just because you are privileged to know a few chaps in government and have got benefits from this and think transport money is minor , doesn’t mean the 60 percent of zambians can afford it. A sad story indeed if it’s true. But keep an open mind and probe this girl further. How did she allow to be raped all the way from Chipata to Lusaka a distance of 593Km? Why did she not leave the truck? This might just be a way of attracting attention. Interview the grandma and other relatives to get the truth and an insight of this girl
