AN 18-year-old woman was last week on Tuesday allegedly gang-raped by a truck driver and his lorry-mate on her way from Chipata to Lusaka, Trauma Healing Centre (THC) executive director Juliet Mutale has said.
Ms Mutale said yesterday that the named woman was allegedly running away from her abusive grandmother when she met her fate.
“We are currently counselling the woman. She was taken to hospital where tests were conducted. She is a double-orphan and does not have any relative in Kitwe. In an attempt to run away from her grandmother who was abusing her, she jumped on the truck that was coming to Kitwe but on the way, the truck driver and his lorry boy repeatedly raped her on the way to Kitwe,” she said.

After pleas by the smart pipo of Zambia to change my blogging conduct I have now decided to contribute positively to our beautiful country.FYI I was just hired by UPND to smear campaign & deliberately discredit the PF government to ruin their public reputation. In fact prior to Jan 2015 polls Muvi TV was given K2.5 million rebased to promote political propaganda against the PF Party to manipulate & influence opinions in favour of UPND. Even the exaggeration of EL sickness by ZWD is a systematic attempt by UPND to shape perceptions of the pipo & hoodwink them so that they fall out of favor with PF in the coming 2016 polls

This is what happens when the ruling party and government fail to ensure women are economically empowered. WOmen in this country will forever remain second class citizens to men as the government has only implemented equality on paper. We in the UPND will ensure that we put in place a proper social services system that will promptly pick out cases of abuse or potential abuses before they are abuse cases. We will invest in social security as after all our aim is to ensure every citizen is safe.

Do you honestly have to poloticise everything??? I thought you guys had recovered from your bitterness……GROW UP!!

am not surprised that you think that way. After all it is because of your shallow thinking that this country is in this situation. Learn to think deeper in order to find the underlying causes of problems. If the same things keep happening year in year out it means change your approach at tackling problems. if you cannot see the link of problems i have stated in my comment then it is you that needs to grow up. to you constructive advise is bitterness. foolish cadre

I would rather we lose as a party than get voted in based on votes from people that do not even know what they voting in. That is why we in the UPND have gone on a national scale project to empower and enlighten people on what our policies are and so that they make informed decisions. Let us learn politics of maturity and not chibuku shake shake

Sorry girl. But I always blame girls who hike trucks. Only prostitutes should find it easy to get on a truck.
BA new educated, why do you blame personal mistakes on Government? One day you impregnant a lady, should it be fair when someone blames those that groomed you?
At least give us minimum thinking.

Hey calm down and take a chill pill. No need for the vulgar language. I know you are hurting deep down inside just like all of us due to the way the PF is failing us. Take heart and stay positive. Engage me maturely rather than through that vile language. Am sure your parents did a better job than that

I like your posting hoping you won’t be a failure because you have a mechanism to every issue that human beings go through. You in UPND are a “God” who provide solutions to human problem, otherwise your vision may create more problem. However, keep it up with your campaign so that those who will be there will live in society free of problems where people will be provided with solutions to their problems. I will happy if I will live in that state of governance.
