Zamtel: The Worst Network Provider

Dear editor, l

have been on 3 networks and Zamtel appears to be the worst network provider in terms of customer care. For the last year I have been on Zamtel I have never been assisted by customerl care and never have they answered any call. Can ZICTA probe Zamtel?

Predictive text due to using a mobile device. No one has claimed to be a master at English. After all I am zambian and not English. Am sure my comment had more important issues raised than a simple error. This is what the PF has been reduced to. Seeking trivial faults kiki Mukose bane

the article that was mistakenly attributed to goddes who commented just above your comment? Go back and read what has been said. What has elders got to do with anything? Grow up ba PF. Why are you shying away from topics of substance on your governance or rather failure of thereof? Quit embarrasing yourselves for once.

I remember writing the same but instead what I received was even the queen can’t understand from you and this creature called trip even said I should admit that I’m a grade 7 drop out. Chikomela mbuzi kuluma galu te. Now its excuses of your handset and no one is a master in English.

It is true, no one answers when you phone the so called customer care.

Zamtel indeed is the worst network provider and at the same time the cheapest.Zamtel inherits its’ high levels of inefficiency from its’ foundation (Post and Telecommunications Corporation). As a parastatal, the objective is to provide services at very low confidence levels. A consumer satisfied or not satisfied is immaterial to them for as long as they are providing any visible service.Always remember that CHEAP IS EXPENSIVE.Compare Zamtel to Postal Services Corporation and you will note that the difference is like between day and night.

The statement is not correct, all the three networks available in Zambia have similar frustrating challenges. But Zamtel is the cheapest.

Incompetence starts at the top and goes all the way down. Some are PF and some are UPND but are Zambians. Please look at the bigger picture. Yes PF errered by appointing lumpens in critical jobs (and you know who brought up this), but this can be corrected without necessarily politicizing the issue. So the new PF should act to save Zamtel now!!

To the contrary, Zamtel has improved a lot in terms of efficiency despite having very lowly paid staff in the telecoms sector, all Zamtel employees work as casuals on short term contracts and all this being blamed on PF government. Hon.Shamenda must tell the nation why casualization has been allowed in Zamtel. Solution – Restructure/change top management, give employees permanent and pensionable conditions, motivate staff by paying them well just like managers and Directors get. PF think seriously on these issues otherwise Mwanakatwe and his team have no vision.

We in the UPND share in your sentiments. Am glad that you have given us this insight on the possible issues that are affecting zamtel. it is important for us as a party in waiting to hear all these issues that peopel are facing so that once you give us the mandate to rule in 2016 we will hit the ground running. We have taken everything you have said and will be passing it on to our team that will look into this issue and hopefully set an agenda in parliament to look into these issues. Thank you

UPND will never get into Power under HH. Mark my words.

I am Tonga yes, but I know very well that our leader HH will never get us into govt.

We will continue posting online from the opposition angle.

And who asked you what tribe you are? What has your tribe got to do with who will get in power? We are not bothered what tribe you are, what you eat, what colour your hair is etc Please leave that backward way of thinking in your village where ignorance can be excused. DO not hide behind the tongas in order to tarnish their good image and foster your tribal aims. Very foolish boy who is not fit to even be in a dog society

I totally agree with Waza, when lap green took over Zamtel a lot of things changed Interms of how it was performing. By now if lap green had continued the call center would have been upgraded because as this was in their pipe line. However, I believe that the decision that the current govt made was equally important but they should have scrutinized the person at the helm of this institution. My prayer is that the govt puts someone with a business mind and also one who takes issues of governance seriously.

We in the UPND are listening and taking note of all your concerns and views. We promise to implement issues based on corporate responsibility and sound management. We want a situation whereby such parastatals are answerable to the people in terms of meeting objectives and targets. We want accountability and if people are not performing to the targets then they should leave! That is how we will run these companies. There is a lack of seriousness in zambians and this is just not at the top but goes down to the bottom of organisations. We hope you will see things our way and give us the chance to govern in 2016

      • mj banda   March 24, 2015 at 1:35 am

It’s unfortunate that you keep listening but you ll never for government to implement this. Sorry to say this but your freemason eish.

Its not just Zamtel, its Zambians mind set. we need to change. Even ZICTA is the same. People work as if they are forced to work. Go to other developed countries or just there in South Africa and happen to visit any one of the companies. the reception and treatment you will get will speak for itself. katwishi ilyo bukacha kuno ku Zambia.

If you guys were truly enlightened, you wouldn’t be wasting my precious time like this. Every institution has an established mechanism on how to channel your trivial grievances. Some of you were naturally born with sarcastic language so why should you need customer care on a site like this. NEW EDUCATED ZAMBIA please tell these mor…. to open their eyes.
