It is news in that law enforcement agencies will now follow him up and make him pay the correct taxes, including those he did not pay when he was in government.

      • vampiro   March 29, 2015 at 6:36 am

Gbm is a good example of people who have made it in life with only a humble education. Focus coupled with hard work can still see you through.

The media are the one spreading seeds of hatred among Zambians and promoting a culture of Bring Him/He down.

    • king solomon   March 28, 2015 at 4:19 pm

  7. confu   March 28, 2015 at 12:14 pm

What is innovative about buying trucks naimwe. Especially to a business man like GBM. How has he bought the trucks by the ? Is it by cash or on credit? Ifintu ifi mwilafimwenafye pa face value. GBM is credit worthy and he can get huge loans to buy trucks. This does not make his business liquid.

    • byonnd   March 28, 2015 at 4:15 pm

Be educated and research more on most business empires.Rich people uses your money through banks.they get huge loans, expand the business en grow.Remember too, there is good debt and bad debt.I work for a multinational company,we make billions of zambian currency, but does it mean that we are immune to borrowing, do not be cheated , we do.Remember too that lending money is a business too, which grows on percentage additions or top ups.Economic growth is a vicious circle where only calculated risk takers survive.Learn from others before criticising

The media ask gbm questions and he answers. Then a few idiots here go ahead and make claims that gbm is a show off. How is telling you facts showing off? We now advise our brother gbm to integret mentorship and graduate schemes for our upcoming youth. I will be advising hh the same when he arrives here in uk. Since pf government has failed let us show them and then show them in 2016 how a government in power can support the young

    • Judge Joe Bidden   March 28, 2015 at 2:38 pm

Just give credit where it’s due those trucks will need drivers who will also feed their families and send kids to school. Imwe fyonse cifukushi if you see others doing well?

      • vampiro   March 29, 2015 at 6:44 am

But gbm moved his business to south, those trucks means nothing for zambians. He was forced to buy new trucks unlike in zambia where he was running skolokolo sa can’t allow him to move wrecks on their roads. Foolish investment only meant to enrich other nations. Moreover he won’t even externalize huge profits from sa to zambia as what the sa businessman does in zambia.

        • Judge Joe Bidden   March 29, 2015 at 10:08 am

Why are you bitter @Vampiro? Chill bottom line it’s his money however he invests it… te?

        • Beautiful Moma   March 29, 2015 at 11:24 am

          @vampiro
GBM doesn’t want to be persecuted now that he has joined the opposition. Remember what they did to him after he was stripped of his ministerial position? That’s bad for business. This time, he made a good calculated move. Hell I would do the same!!

          • Judge Joe Bidden   March 29, 2015 at 12:48 pm

I really like his way of doing business they thought they would bring him down

Very good second hands…..but will work.
FYI -The K90m is equivalent to just 2 HaulPak/Komatsu dump trucks owned by Lumwana or KCM.

  24. itizi turu   March 28, 2015 at 4:17 pm

He can afford to flaunt it ‘cos it aint stolen. Let’s see which other politician can show us their wealth. I am motivated.

  25. Chinokole   March 28, 2015 at 4:28 pm

Buying trucks is not smart business. It shows low intelligence. It is better to lease them for a period of time and send them back after you have made your dough. Only SIDO, ex-mimers or ex-civil servant on voluntary separation scheme would boast of buying a truck.

    • Judge Joe Bidden   March 28, 2015 at 4:46 pm

Where have you seen or read he’s boasting? Trucks can pay him back 10 fold in short time if they run international errands

    • kakolwe   March 28, 2015 at 5:05 pm

Iweee @Chinokole!! Where did you do your business studies? What do you understand by leasehold? Of all the major types of leasing (3) fixed assets are the ones that work well. Not ifimyotoka!

      • Chinokole   March 28, 2015 at 5:35 pm

Where I come from, we lease cars, planes or yatchs for business. Nobody wants to buy such wasting asset unless you are in the business of selling trucks.
I do not doubt you business knowledge, but I know many friends who lease trucks for business and it works well too.

        • kakolwe   March 29, 2015 at 2:01 am

Probably, chartering is mostly implied here @Chinokole. Of course, if we have to take our board members to China for a once – off businesses tour, we will not buy an airbus. We may as well chartter (lease) one. But if I will be in the business of transporting business board across Africa to China for next 5 years, leasing will be an expensive undertaking.

It does not take for someone to be a graduate to get rich, AMANO YAKUFYALWA NAYO,a GRADE NINE DOING FINE

  27. son of a Gun   March 28, 2015 at 7:14 pm

@ Drivers will get jobs? This is what I have. Noticed with some clueless bloggers we say things which we have no I dea about whatsoever, this man you are seeing in a picture is a snake in the grass, his workers never last,I did my attachments at the corner luanshya Road, some tym back the way workers were being flushed out,Truck Drivers were not paid @ they must be carrying charcoal on their way back. After taking the assignments,he was just assigning the then Transportation manager Chilekwa Munkonge,to simply show the drivers the xit Door when ever one demands for their salary and that was final.personally after seeing all this crap I never clocked a month. That’s GBM 4 u.I have been watching him @ a distance, the only difference between GBM and HH is,GBM’s workers eat the way they want, but not money, you’ll b enemies over money. HH is a greedy boss whose workers have to go with a Pamela sugar and mealiemeal or else you starve to death @ the opposition Hero’s palace.

    CONGRATULATIONS ba GBM

  32. investigator   March 29, 2015 at 4:18 am

Ok that’s good, but he should be thinking of diversification. Not loading all his monies into trucks. Why not open a truck assembly plant in Livingston, it’s possible so that he can even encourage more youths by employing them with discent jobs.
