Woman Murdered In Cassava Field

A 58-YEAR-OLD woman of Mansa has been killed while working in her cassava field.
Marian Mwape of Tom Village in Chief Kalasa Lukangaba’s area is believed to have met her fate between 06:00 hours and 14:00 hours on Thursday as she was alone weeding her field.
Luapula Province Criminal Investigations Officer Mulala Sikota said in an interview yesterday that the police visited the scene of crime and found the body lying naked in a pool of blood. She suffered multiple head injuries.
Mr Sikota said police suspect that the assailants must have used her hoe to kill her and that foot prints on the scene revealed that the attackers might have been three.
No arrests have been made.
