Woman, 22, Arrested For Dumping Baby In Pit Latrine

POLICE in Chinsali have arrested a 22-year -old woman of Mbutuka village for allegedly dumping her newly born baby in a pit latrine at her father’s house.
Muchinga Province commissioner of police Auxensio Daka said in an interview yesterday that the incident occurred on Thursday at Mbutuka village in Chief Chewe’s area in Chinsali.
Mr Daka has identified the suspect as 22-year-old Foster Nkonde.
“The suspect gave birth to a baby boy but she decided to dump him in a pit latrine, immediately after delivery. We have charged her with infanticide and she will appear in court soon,” he said.
Mr Daka said the incident was reported to the police by alert members of the community who saw her as she was dumping the baby.
He said the baby’s remains have been retrieved and buried.

Let the gal face the law for infanticide. There is nothing like unwanted pregnancy, should have known the consequences of pre marital sex.

How many people out there are childless and someone can afford to dump a baby in a pit latrine. Your own blood sure. You even look at it, see the pretty face, nose and mouth and probably the innocent cry and you go ahead and dump it in a pit latrine….Haa!! Why not dump a child at some orphanage so someone can adopt it and care for it? Haa!
