Mwale:Govt Has No Money For Coach

Sports minister Vincent Mwale says the government has no money to give the Football Association of Zambia to engage a new national team coach.
Last month, FAZ made a proposal to the government on the recruitment of an expatriate coach after telling its delegates at an annual general meeting that caretaker coach Honour Janza was under-qualified for the role. Speaking to journalists on Wednesday afternoon, Mwale said the government recently bailed out FAZ with K3 million paid out to Dario Bonetti for unfair dismissal, and that returning to the Treasury to seek more funding impossible. “We just bailed out FAZ. We spent a lot of money and for me to go back to the Treasury and ask for money for us to employ the technical bench, I think that is a tall order. It will be a challenge for the Treasury to find these resources,” Mwale said.
He said the government’s aim was to see the Chipolopolo qualify to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup, and had since engaged the corporate world to source money for the engagement of a new coach. “We are looking at the corporate world out there.
There is good indication we might soon be announcing how we would have raised towards the technical bench; [it] looks like there is goodwill from corporate world to supplement government’s efforts,” said Mwale.

Very saddening . And when we come out as the UPND and say that this government lacks the capacity to manage the economy we are called names. It is clear that the budget shortfall which our brother HH spoke about in europe, is indeed becoming a negative reality on the ground. The government is has got no money because they have mispaced priorites.

Just employ a cheap Chinese coach. we all know they are cheap and flexible on payments and they are good at making replicas, so maybe they will even make replica neymers and Ronaldo’s of this world for our national team.

Useless minister, his job is to look for money. There’s no team at a professional level that has no expertriate coach, in England, Spain, Italy, everywhere. His not a sports person, it’s just a job. How does he expect Janza to qualify the team to World Cup.

No money and now no power in Zambia. We are told the government lacks capacity to effectively manage anything. Pf is a joke. You fire a manager in name of better services and you end b up with worse off service. Kikiki
